the only hard bosses are abs rad,nightmare king grimm,pure vessel and normal rad but i could say sly is also hard but i think hes gonna have a hard time with kings pass hornet since shes fast it will be hard for him to win

Somehow I managed to find Soul Master before Mantis Lords and I just used desolate dive, I’m pretty sure WITH shaman stone. And still got cooked by those guys

Just in case no one has told you yet when you're fighting bosses it can be good to maintain center stage and move little bits at a time, this way you're not flailing your character around needlessly and taking unnecessary damage. You're doing great! Edit: Typo

It's really satisfying to see you learned you can pogo (attack below yourself and get that mini-jump) the blade attacks in mid of the battle :) I suggest you to try doing it with almost every thing in this game, so you can see what you can and can not pogo. good luck with this game, cuz is really really fun and full of details, secrets... I just finished a couple days ago and, though I'm not a pure completionist, I'm still looking forward to beat some optional challenges I've got left, and I encourage you to do the same!! Enjoy the big journey of that little bug!! :)

Watching this, its equivalent to watching the "Path of Pain" because it looks painful. Been there and done that. I remember sucking so bad with HK that I thought the game was impossible. Over time, you understand the pattern and things slow down and you're able to get them with better pattern recognition. Can't wait for Silksong.

These bosses are insanely hard your first go, I can confirm. But then, you come back after the true ending and wipe the floor with all of them.

Easily my favorite Hollow Knight boss fight. This is the first fight where you start to unlock parts of your brain to improve your Hollow Knight skills similar to how the knight unlocks things in the game, except it's your gameplay, not your knight's arsenal that improves. This fight teaches you four things. 1. Boss attacks no matter how much flair they are, deal no damage when you understand what's going on. (Trust me not everyone knows and holds to this.) 2. You have to use your soul to attack. (Optional but really makes things easier, you can opt out but you need so much patience.) 3. Healing is unnecessary, and even detrimental if you haven't yet understood the boss attacks. 4. Movement is Everything. Doing the right moves is insanely rewarding, doing unnecessary moves is lethal. After learning these four you have effectively upgraded your hollow knight experience.

The most important thing in hollow knight, is to power up as you play through the game. Find mask shards, charms and notches, upgrade your nail, and addapt your "build" according to what you're fighting. If you're willing to grind a bit, you will have an easier time overall. It is still hard, but easier.

Same with me, hollow knight looks hard at start, but when you get used to these keys and play styles, dodging, it becomes easier. Good luck.

I wish I had the same reaction to the mantis lords. I only found them after I had gotten 3/4 endings for the game and had a good setup so it wasn't as fun

Hollow Knight was my first video game ever. The mantis lords felt utterly unbeatable. Everything was so fast and confusing and long! It took at least 3 hours and several breaks but I beat them! I was so proud to tell my friend. I'm even more proud to say I've beaten the 4th pantheon and am working on the fifth! I LOVE THIS GAME

funny story, I found mantis lord late game (after beating 2 dreamers, with unupgraded dash, double jump), manage to beat em first try. But fought soul master early on (only have un-upgraded dash), daym he's tough as hell. Those fake ground slam really got me every time.

This is kinda useless info now but you can parry the spinning swords (look down & hit) & if you walk past the lords instead of instantly challenging you can mantis claw to the top left. Theres 2 lifeblood hearts behind a breakable wall

you can point the move stick down and press the attack button to bounce off of spikes and some enemies/weapons

The fact that you need to dash shows you are really new because later on you’ll see this fight is one of the easiest and one of the best just later on try radiant mode in godhome

i want to see you beat watcher knights im kinda stuck on them started like week ago (17h in)and im grinding so hard to prepare for this battle that i got 3masks 2vessels and almost all charms and some charm notches idk how much tho and almost maxed nail and spells i will try to kill them maybe i will win i feel like i overprepered but they prob will destroy me edit: nevermind they are week i just when i fighted them first time skipped a lot by using dash and claw and i skipped duble jump, nail upgrades, spell upgrades, abilities, charms and charm notches so yea they arent that strong just dont go to them early game (that was boss that i was came just after beating mantis lords)

If a boss feels hard, justtry to progress somewhere else and you'll find handy upgrades. Waiting for you to beat radiant Sisters of Battle :)

Just beat him a few days ago. My tip is that he isn’t that much different that troupe master Grimm. Just faster and with some slight tweaks. You can do some of the same things you would do with normal Grimm but you have to find different ways to counter some of his modified attacks.
