played mine through gamepass, but yeah I should give them money. They deserve it for this masterpiece. Mantis lords favorite boss fight NKG least favorite because I couldn't defeat him for the life of me and it was really annoying. Collector was a close second because even though I eventually defeated him, I was about two more minutes of hearing his noises from going completely insane.

I know this comment will never get noticed but man going from the gray, depressing crossroads to a beautiful, green, and grassy area was surprising. It shows that there is still natural beauty in what I consider Hallownest a wasteland. This music helped in bringing the atmosphere for me.

Another complex soundtrack. I believe it runs with two time signatures at the same time, 3/4 and 6/4. The reason is that each instrument is playing in either one of the two time signatures while being independent from the others. Below you will see a detailed analysis about every instrument that I think is important for the overall melody of the soundtrack. Try to only pay attention to one instrument at a time. This way you understand better in which time signature each instrument operates. I don't always know the correct name of the instruments, which is why I will use nicknames. A. Harp (introduced at the very beginning): -always in 6/4 time signature (divided into a 4/4 and 2/4 bar) B. that Moss Knight by the Lake of Unn shrine.. such a unique experience for me. I was going through a rough time in my life and a previous Moss Knight actually ended up making me lose all my Geo and I got really frustrated. Finding that calming spot was so nice like the music faded away and there was that cricket-y bird-y ambience. And then I saw that Moss Knight staring longingly across the river. I lowkey had an Undertale moment lol. I immediately felt the sense of longing for something beyond reach from him. Cautiously approached, took contact damage, yelled and immediately ran into the Unn temple only to find Quirrel in there. He confirmed my thoughts about that Moss Knight and also it was rly nice to see Quirrel again. I went back outside and just kinda sat there next to him and zoned out for a bit. Just wanted to share a small one of many magical experiences this game gave me

Every time I hear this ost, it takes me all the way back to my childhood when I used to play a little indie game called Wik and the Fable of the Souls. It had that 2000s games simplicity in it but as a preteen I wasn't expecting a lot from games. And that game had such an atmosphere Hollow Knight, Rain World, Ori can do something similar but still feels missing something, if you know what I mean.
