A couple months back I uploaded a little arrangement of Hornet's Theme from Hollow Knight, at the request of one of my friends who wanted an arrangement of it for us to play. I hadn't played the game, but the score sounded cool so I arranged my version and uploaded it. Following this, I received a mountain or requests (demands? threats?) to actually play Hollow Knight, so I decided to give in and play the game.
And boy, am I glad I did.
Hollow Knight is, quite frankly, incredible. I honestly haven't fallen in love with a game this much since I played Celeste, and for those of you who are familiar with me you'll know that's high praise. The game is so well crafted, with gorgeous artwork and animations and a beautiful world you can just get lost in. I wasted no time in making this game my identity for the subsequent few months.
Having spent close to 80 hours in the game, and having beaten everything except the pantheons, I have had plenty of time to appreciate this game's amazing soundtrack - Christopher Larkin is a hugely talented composer and his themes are an essential part of the feel of Hallownest. I am so in love with the soundtrack that I just had to do some arrangements, but there were so many tracks to choose from! I ended up opting for a medley of all my favourites, taking a journey through the different areas and encounters of Hallownest. I hope that this medley does some justice to the genius of Christopher Larkin's soundtrack, and for those of you who have played the game, that it takes you on a trip back down memory lane.
