Hey Holly, i come with some unsolicited advice, when you’re doing lat pull downs (the machine at 11:36) try not to bring the bar too low, it puts too much stress in your wrists and can be pretty harmful if you start pushing yourself with more weight, instead, try pulling the bar until it touches the top of your chest or until it gets just bellow your chin and then let go. Anyways, Love your videos💕

I’m American but my sister’s household is in the military and they were stationed in the UK, and when I went and visited we went to farmer’s markets all the time! I ate the best blueberries I’ve ever had there! But just because you buy food wrapped in plastic doesn’t undo the effort you put forth to create less. We live in a world where we constantly have to balance how our actions affect the world around us, whether it’s buying food or clothing or cleaning products, and you can’t get it perfect every time. All you can do is your best, and that’s enough!

Hi Holly! I understand what you mean about hard study having an impact on your eyesight. I’m in a very similar situation to you. I am genetically predisposed to eyesight problems through both my parents, that being said my eyesight isn’t that bad. The glasses I wear I wear all the time, but mostly they are for reading and computer use. My major is literature so I am reading a lot and I find that I need glasses to be able to comfortably read. I am slightly short-sighted, and I have the blue coating on my glasses and prisms so that my eyes don’t have to stress about focusing too much. I guess are eyes are fairly similar 😊 Though for my new prescription I am getting new frames, I don’t think I could survive without my glasses 😢😂😂 Your glasses really suit you!

while i think it’s important to do as much as you can for the environment, it’s also important to remember that there is no ethical consumption under capitalism and there is always gonna be something that is not ideal about the way people shop/eat/dress themselves and so on. and i think it’s amazing that you are already doing so much by being vegan and simply being aware of the conditions of our environment and spreading the message, i don’t think you should be beating yourself up too much abt buying stuff with plastic, especially if there isn’t really a way to avoid it? for example here in germany we have the regulation that pesticide free grown fruits and vegetables have to be wrapped in plastic because otherwise they could touch foods with pesticides, which i think is a good example of what i said earlier: do you buy the pesticide free product wrapped in plastic or the one thats not wrapped in plastic but is otherwise environmentally damaging. obviously everyone should constantly think abt what they are doing and how they can improve BUT even more than that we should put pressure on those who are truly responsible for the current situtation (big corporations and monopolising companies) to force them to improve their ways and also on our goverments to put more and stricter regulations in place. also i absolutely loved this video and the new sweater!! xxx
@HollyGabrielle5 жыл бұрын
thank you rebecca! i totally agree with your point! i suppose i just feel that sometimes i need to justify it because a lot of people will immediately criticise when i buy lots of plastic you know??? having said that, i would still like to reduce my plastic use because as an individual, i am just always looking for ways to live a more ethical lifestyle!
@fienn52275 жыл бұрын
Hey, I agree (I live in Germany too) but just wanted to point out the fact that "Bio-food" wrapped in plastic is not simply a bad thing: it "saves" a lot of veggies that would otherwise be thrown away because of damage caused by transport, or because they don't stay fresh long enough when they're not wrapped in plastic. So the plastic saves a LOT of food from being wasted. The question is what is better or worse. Ich hoffe es war verständlich, relativ schwer es auf Englisch auszudrücken :D liebe Grüße
@Hundefan1235 жыл бұрын
Another Idea for plastic reduction: Unpack your veggies directly at the supermarket! This doesn´t affect plastic usage itself, but the store has to care for recycling them. And if many people do this, it gets expensive for the store and it puts pressure on the producer. And it makes other people aware of the issue.

I go to my local fruit and veg market whilst at uni and I get all of my fruit and veg for the week for under £10 (normally around £7), with a few exceptions. For instance, I needed a squash this week for some soup and my market didn't have any so I made sure to go somewhere like Lidl where the squash is package free. I am in no way preaching about this as I have only just transitioned to Veganism and recently started going to the market. But they use paper bags for loose things (mushrooms and tomatoes) and take my reusable bag to put all of my produce in. It does reduce my plastic intake dramatically as everything else I get from supermarkets is mostly in glass jars or in tin cans. I hope you can find a compromise soon! 💚
