So Prince was trying to save Alfie, Lily, Peri & Tom, but he's not allowed too. Also, wtf Leela so Peri had made it around & you walk off with her, but you decide to leave Louis & Prince to Alfie, Lily & Tom. Well these 3 were in danger as well as Peri & Leela is meant to be a firewoman as well.

The ladder was not a safe way to evacuate them. The paramedic told them the better option was to evacuate them through the window. They were standing on the structurally most secure part of the destroyed floor - near the corners. When that part of the floor withstood the blast of the explosion, it can easily handle the weight of them. Non of them had any visible serious injuries, and they were all of them old enough to sit tight and wait for help, supporting and seeking comfort in each other. There might be hundreds of others in more need of help, than those four were. By running in like Prince did, he could potentially have caused the death of someone - perhaps many - elsewhere in the bombed out building, because the attempts to rescue and treat them would temporarily have been halted, because of the risk Prince with his lone presence represented to rescuers, should he step the wrong place, or push open or move something which caused the balance to shift and more of the building to collapse - over the rescue workers and the other people trapped inside. His reckless act of going in after Lily could have cost rescue workers` lives, had more of the building collapsed while they were attempting to help people furter down the building. Besides, Leela didn`t want Peri on that ladder. But when Peri had started walking across, it was too late to turn, cause it would have been more likely she would have fallen off, had she attempted walking backwards, than forwards. Having Lily do the same therefore was a reckless act which could have cost Louis his job, had it been reported. Just imagine, when Lily accidentally kicked the ladder and it fell, if two paramedics, carrying an injured pupil on a stretcher, had been on the bottom floor, and that ladder hit them? After emergency services have arrived rescue attempts should always be left to them, bystanders should keep away - unless specifically being asked to help. But then they should do no more and no less than what the emergency staff told them to.

As long as they kept themselves where they were - where, because of the corners the floor is most structurally secure, they were fine. Had they attempted what you suggest, that part of the floor, hanging in thin air on the outside could have collapsed, cause there could be severe cracks in the concrete from the blast, making it too weak to withstand the weight of either one of them.

Having them walk across that ladder after the paramedic had told them it was safer to get them out through the window was a reckless act which in real life could have cost Louis his job, had it been reported. Emergency personale, whether firefighters, police or paramedics ALWAYS is to be obeyed on an accident site. They have the skills and equipment to get people out the safest way possible, and the knowledge to know in which order they should be prioritized. Alfie, Tom, Lily and Peri - because where they were at the location they were, would be thought to be less in peril than people caught under downfall or who had serious injuries - might have had to wait a while before they were brought out. But being in the corner, they were in the part of the destroyed floor most secure structurally, and all of them were walking, without visible bleeds or pail skin suggesting an internal bleed. As much as a hospital check would have been required, to rule out head injuries and spinal damages which could become severe were they not discovered and treated, they seem mostly unharmed physically - and therefore would have been a little bit behind in the line of people waiting to be helped. Only the people not assumed to be able to survive, and who also was unconscious and therefore didn`t experience pains, would have had a lower priority.
