You are not far from the truth.Donna Reed was a lovely star,and a very underrated actress.She was typecast at MGM Studios as mostly loyal wives or girlfriends on screen, limiting her acting talent.The one time she was permitted to expand her acting talent was in the role of Lorene in "From Here To Eternity",for which she won the Academy Award For Best Supporting Actress in 1953.The other role she was most noted for was as the wife of James Stewart in Frank Capra's "It's A Wonderful Life" in 1946.
