He's one of my favorite actors! He struck my fancy for the first time in "Plein Soleil" ("Purple Noon") from a foreign film festival on one of my local PBS stations back when I was a teenager in the late '70s. He was one of THE most handsome men I've ever seen! I saw "L'Eclisse," "The Yellow Rolls Royce," "Once a Thief," "Rocco and His Brothers," "Le Samourai," and his TV miniseries, "Fabio Montale." I wrote him a fan letter (can't remember if I did it in English or in my so-so highschool French), and a few weeks later, I received an autographed picture post card from him. (Alas, I lost the postcard in a fire some years later). 😢

For the record, he fled Hollywood after about a year for fame on the International market. Realized Hollywood brass would control his career, cause him to audition for roles (unlike all his Hollywood peers, he never auditioned or competed for any film role) and he was a risk-taker who was far too ambitious. Alain became a world icon as both a cinema and a cultural icon. RIP Mr. Delon, I miss you more than you know.

I truly believe Alain loved Romy, but both of them were too young, too talented, too pretty, to emocionally unstable and Delon enjoyed women a bit too much. That being said, he got really melancholic about Romy as he aged since she died so young. I think their tumultous lives deserve a 3 hours movies at least untill her death at only 43 years old.

Too hard to say he had an ugly heart. There are two sides to this story. Nico was a fly-by-night affair. She had a lot of affairs and was a druggie. She couldn't even take care of her child properly. Alain Delon didn't think the child was his. Sad for the boy, but it's not so dreadful what he did given the circumstances. Easy to judge from the outside. He left his women as lovers, yes, but he kept them as friends and helped them.

German born singer Nico (the mother of Christian Aaron { Ari} Paffgen Boulogne) had several other lovers at the same time she had the brief affair with Alain Delon and any one of these men could be Ari's father ? Since Delon did not want to have a child with Nico, why should he be held responsible for her irresponsible behaviour having a child ,who she could not take care of and who she neglected and abused all of the time he was in her care ? Why is all of the responsibility put on Delon? This infantilization of women ,making them "victims" of men is demeaning ! Nico chose to have a child on her own, the fault lies in her decision, not that of Alain Delon, or whoever the child's father was . Go and read the biographies of Nico and find out about how she lived her life : "Nico: You are beautiful and you are alone" by Jennifer Otter Bickerdike and "Nico: and "The life and lies of and icon " by Richard Witts). She used hard drugs ever since she was a teenager and even gave those drugs to Ari to keep him quiet while she worked. What kind of mother is that ?! Insted of blaming Alain Delon for Ari's sad life, why not put the blame on his irresponsible mother !

Ari disgrace was getting close to Nico again in his teenager years.

@Mavrilon Ай бұрын
@@marygarofalo704 Eventhough Alain Delon's mother Edith Arnold (Delon) Boulogne took German born singer Nico's son "Ari" into her care, I don't believe that she thought that he was her biological grandson . Nico had several other lovers at that time and anyone of them could have been the child's father. I wrote this in May 2023 after Ari Boulogne's death. I'm including it here to make my point: The tabliod press in France has been harking on about Ari Boulogne, (Christian Aaron Paffgen Boulogne, born 11 August 1962- 19 May 2023 ), who had for years alleged that Delon was his father . Delon has long been condemed and criticized for not acknowledging Ari Boulogne as his son. Other French stars such as Yves Montand and Johnny Halliday have also been acused by various women as having been the father of a child they bore, these allegation have not always turned out to be true. Few of these critics of Delon bother to research the parenting style ofAri's, mother, German born singer Nico. Nico ( real name : Christa Päffgen) had several other lovers ( both male and female ) ,at the time she had the brief affair with Alain Delon, as has been noted in biographies of Nico "(Nico: You are beautiful and you are alone" by Jennifer Otter Bickerdike and "Nico: The life and lies of and icon "by Richard Witts). Nico had been a hard drug user since she was 15 years old ( heroin and cocaine) and that she continued to use these drugs during her pregnancy and even gave them to her infant son Ari . Also mentioned in the biographies of Nico were the terrible conditons her son lived in while he was with his mother ( filty diapers,dirty clothes, little or no food and over all squalid living conditions ). Here is an excerpt from an article about Ms Otter Bickerdike's biography of Nico: " Nico met French heart-throb and inveterate womaniser Alain Delon. They had a 'whirlwind affair' on the Italian island where he was filming, which blew Nico away - but not Delon who at the time was involved with his co-star German born actress, Romy Schneider. A friend recalled that Nico (was) 'very happy and excited: 'I've just slept with Alain Delon!' It was like Snow White had met her prince. She was obsessed with this ghastly man.' After a subsequent one-night stand in New York, she became pregnant and decided to have the baby. Friends were gob-smacked that she genuinely believed Delon would marry her. He has always denied being the boy's father. After the birth of her son ,Nico left Ari in Ibiza with her mother, who was suffering from Parkinson's Disease, so ( that) she could go off and earn money for all of them from acting, modelling and - so she hoped - singing. It was a disastrous move. The toddler was largely left to fend for himself . Nico contacted Delon's mother, Mme. Edith Delon Boulogne, saying that Ari was her grandson and begged her to take the child into her care. Mme Boulogne ended up rescuing and eventually adopting Ari after finding him 'crouching like an animal' in a dark room that stank of faeces and vomit in the apartment where Nico lived. On the occasions she 'borrowed' Ari, Nico was a chaotic parent. The child sometimes went around after concerts drinking all the leftover alcohol he could find. Otter Bickerdike writes: 'It has been written, but not confirmed, that Nico allegedly smeared heroin on the child's gums to calm him down . Nico appears to have been much more worried about her career ( than her child )." Those fuming about the "rejection" of Ari by his alleged biological father ( Alain Delon), might also take into consideration the blatant neglect and abuse the child suffered at the hands of his biological mother, Nico .

Meaning strip away their status, fame, anything you know about them and simply look at all of them for the first time and objectively they would become normal looking people and majority of women would no longer say they are attractive. However, very few men get that credit and those are Pitt, Cruise, Dicaprio among few others. But at the apex of all men, stands the most beautiful of them all.. Alain Delon. Very nice dissection. But I take issue with your title, most ɓeautiful man in the world. In the modern world maybe, but to me the most beautiful man was Errol Flynn in 1935.

Elvis was blond so having his hair dyed dark brought out his eyes and face in general. Also, Elvis wore loads of make-up all the time not just for performances. So in that time, make-up wasn't as fine so it must have looked cakes in every day life. For the same period, Warren Beatty and George Peppard l'd say were more handsome when l've seen images of them . Both equal to Délon.

@@martarego9646 Alain delon’s mother hoped to manipulate Daniel, I think that’s his name, to re-establish a relationship with his fascist son. In doing so, she literally stole Nico’s child and forbid any kind of tender relationship between the two. That fascist pig should have intervened and impose that the kid stayed with the mother. Or are you one of those frustrated, stupid people that thinks all drug users are bad parents? You probably are, my ignorant, sexually frustated and devoid of any understanding of the world, little consumer of ideology. Do you really believe that a fascist, Gaullist, pretty face can’t go wrong? Think again and think how narcissistic his behaviour has been all his life. Trodding on any humanistic values worth having
