I think Carole's maid should have first called police and an ambulance, when she dis- covered Carole collapsed on the floor. She should not have called Rex. Perhaps he killed Carole, if she was threatening to tell his wife about their affair, and expose him to the press. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I doubt he killed her, but an ambulance should have been called immediately.

What can I say, HM? 45 vids, all of them perfect! The best complement, I think, anyone can Receive is from the movie 'Tombstone,' when Wyatt Earp says to a dying Doc Holiday: "Thanks for always being there, Doc." Meaning, you never disappoint and you're someone always there with the goods. Bravo, HM.

@chachadodds5860
@chachadodds5860 Ай бұрын
@Jackielocks That's the way it was back then. This was not an unusual incident, but rather the accepted norm. Men/husbands were the heads of households, and the decision-makers in all matters. The choice to keep a woman's health condition from them was seen as protecting them. I'm certain that deep down, she knew.

My mom was a young mother of 2 when Carole Landis died, but was a big fan of both Carole and Harrison. She was so sad about Carole’s death that she never saw another Harrison movie again (and she lived until 1988).

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. I never tire of watching that movie. Like at least one other commenter, I cry at the end of that too. (Mostly the film but I cry for Gene Tierney and her tragedies.) Rex Harrison was veddy veddy well known for being veddy veddy well -- how should I say this? -- I'm not going to finish that sentence.

I absolutely loved his performances in Anna and the King of Siam, and the Gost and Mrs. Muir. Other than that I found him creepy and off putting. Nobody ever knows what goes on between two people except the two, and as you mentioned both are gone.

Ms Landis' death was tragic and I believe it was self inflicted. From the start, Harrison and Hollywood reporters didn't get along and it's no surprise that they'd destroy him following Ms Landis' death. Just about every star in those days had affairs and failed marriages. Landis herself was married 4 times and was married during her affair with RH, so he didn't do anything she herself wasn't doing. I think he cared for CL and was devastated by her death, and it is a reminder that when you play with fire, you get burned. Can you imagine if every adulterous affair ended in suicide? My favorite of his films is TG&MM. I fell in love with him in that film and I also love Blythe Spirit. I watch both films every time they're shown.

Rex Harrison. was one of the few Hollywood leading men (like Robert Michum and Clark Gable) that when he entered the room you knew that a man was in the room; but with his own authoritative, dignified, polished British style. He used his voice like a musical instrument, with perfect phrasing, punctuating - he could go high or low but always poetically. I can see why they called him sexy rexy. Yes, the "Ghost and Mrs. Muir" was my favorite Rex Harrison movie too.

Great actor, great voice, but everything I've ever read or heard was that he was a terrible human being regarding many women in his life. Even the late beautiful inside and out, true humanitarian, actress Audrey Hepburn said he was very difficult to work with during the making of My Fair Lady. Wasn't hard for him to play a complete narcissistic curmugeon as Professor Higgins. I knew about Kay Kendall, a very tragic story. A life too short! May they rest in peace~

From what I understand he treated Julie Andrews very badly because she became The Star and not him necessarily at the time. He also made a film in the 50s. With my friend Linda now and she told me that he was absolutely impossible. I was always trying to get her in bed, but she was a good girl.A lovely ended on was a wonderful and sweet lady and I miss her so much

This is a very nice bit of Tosh, but it doesn't say anything about Rick Harris and the man as I was his assistant for several years when he was in his 80s and he was some piece of work had a terrible reputation with women and with colleagues, but I had no problem with him. I stayed with him for about 6 years. On tour with Ian Colbert is the play called oh d*** I can't remember something about a bird. I'm very old now. And i'm lucky, I remember anything at all, but I could tell some stories, but even in his later years, I could tell some stories, but my lips are sealed, I do not talk oh I remember the sandpiper it's in all that time I was with him I never saw a heard of his childr a p sShe told me he hated working on cleopatry said it was a nightmare of stopping and stopping go because of taylor's illnessesen
