Don Knotts made "The Andy Griffith Show" so entertaining. Even Andy said that. Barney Fife will go down in television history as one of the most iconic characters ever.

Thanks for posting this ...I'm a child of the 60's but I dont remember this show but, some memories fade. Sunni Walton......I dont remember her but she nailed Margaret O'Brien( I re-ran that 4 times) then had me in tears singing opera....to me she was the stand out of the show( sorry Joey)....her impersonation of Eartha Kitt was dead on to but, I cant help thinking what were the producers of " Batman" thinking when they picked her to replace Julie Newmar to play catwoman🤔..... or was it Lee Meriwether she replaced? Like I said some memories fade😥

Halfway through the show, Lance Rentzel appears in a tux and plays the organ. He looks just like "Lurch". Ouch!

We can enjoy the show now, but you can see why the show was cancelled at mid-season - an alarming number of commercial spots were unsold and filled with network promos.

Well, it had run its course - after 6 1/2 years on ABC.

This was in fact the last regular episode of the show. What aired a week later was a retrospective on the entire series. The real problem was, even by this point, the show was no longer attracting big name musical artists (this would also lead to the demise of The Ed Sullivan Show a year later). By this point, artists were beginning to regularly play at much bigger venues than in the past and were making far more money as a result, eliminating the need to appear on these type of shows.

Will, this was the 60's and a 6 year run is respectable don't you think? Anyway I get a kick out of revisiting the 60's, commercials as well

9:30 McCall & Brill had a chance to make up for their bad experience on Ed Sullivan's show (when the Beatles premiered) here. I thought they were very funny as a celebrity couple on TATTLETALES.

Heart breaking to know that only after 9 months of marriage at the time this was filmed 10 months later Joey Heatherton would find out Lance Rentzel would be arrested and plead guilty to exposing himself to a 10 yr old girl. Understandably Joey was devastated and divorced him the following year. Joey is such a vivacious and beautiful woman and feel sad her dreams of a future family and life with her husband were crushed in such a way 😥 Always thought she was so underrated considering how talented and attractive she was 😍🥰

the guy in the first sports commercial was Ron Carey who was the detective want to be on " Barney Miller "
@jmccracken19633 жыл бұрын
And the narrator of that commercial was William Schallert - who, between movie and on-screen TV appearances, made a good living announcing on TV and radio commercials. Any idea who the woman was in the ABC Sports commercial? She looks awfully familiar, but I can't figure out who she is.

35:12 "a moment of crisis"? Wow, Barney didn't know the half of it. Anyway, it's more than a little unusual to see an NFL player who can also sing and play keyboards; what a loss it must have been for everyone involved.

Entertaining but very poorly produced as far as the talent's potential,lip syncing, settling for mediocre performance choices. Could have been done much better!!
