I don't think his behavior was fake. He was dee in scientology didn't have his previous PR person and just let loose. This is when Katie comes in. I think it was more keeping the good guy image he was destroying at the time.

How do you define "completely fake"? I agree that some of them were just "for show," but why would Kaley Cuoco come off a relationship with her Big Bang Theory costar Johnny Galecki to have a fling with Henry Cavill, then marry Ryan Sweeting, have her name formally changed to Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting on the BBT opening credits, get divorced, change it back again, and now be married to Karl Cook? Sounds like you're saying the fling with Henry Cavill was to get the paparazzi to put her in the tabloids, but after that, what is going through a constant change of relationships and marriages in only a few years supposed to do for her image? Also, as a Tom Hiddleston fan, I heard he met Taylor Swift at a party and danced with her, and after that, she was sending limos to pick him up and take him to her place and getting "caught" by paparazzi walking on the beach, but then SHE's the one who dumped HIM to go back to her previous boyfriend. And he seems to be the only guy she hasn't written a mean song about, while after they split, he was saying he still hoped they might get back together. I can imagine that SHE was using HIM, maybe to make her ex jealous (?), but he's generally pretty private about his relationships and seems like a sincere person to me. (Plus their relationship seemed to be taking place primarily in the US; I can't imagine him commuting between the US and UK just for the purpose of a fake relationship with an American pop singer known for writing revenge songs about her neverending string of exes or how that would advance his career.) It seems she was influencing him to dress up in more expensive suits with his hair slicked back and doing photo spreads; it was a total change of his previous, accessible, down-to-earth image that all his fans loved. When asked in one interview I read at the time whether he wanted to be the next James Bond, he said there's already an actor (Daniel Craig) still signed on for the role who hasn't given it up yet. (Now people are prematurely talking about Idris Elba to be the next Bond.) Now that it's obvious they're not getting back together, he seems to be dressing and doing his hair like his old self again. So, while it may have been a fake relationship on Taylor Swift's part, I think from Tom Hiddleston's perspective (from what I know about him; in fact, I was alarmed when he started dating her because, based on her past history, I was afraid she would hurt him, which took even less time than I expected), it was real.
