Gargiulo got the attorney he paid for, every cent worth. (And the attorney he deserves- the kind who can't print up a projector slide, then calls it "PowerPoint," repeatedly!)

Ok...if you happened to be of sound mind prior to defense closing arguments, you’re not now 😳! I’ll be going back to bed and re-awakening in order to reboot and start my day over on the clear and concise path 😉

Not that Gargiulo deserved anything better, but for this lawyer it's sad that their team didn't stop him from opening and closing arguments. He's obviously well beyond his intellectual peek and this mess will be what will be remembered of his carreer. I actually wondered at one point if they are hoping to use his health / mental state later - like if he slips into dementia in the near future Gargiulo could possibly argue ineffective counsil and win a new trial with these videos alone. I also find he deliberately remembers the jury of his age a bit too often... "old fashioned power point", mentioning the hearing aid, saying "I am tired" after less than an hour of argument, misstating names and dates over and over... what if all that is strategy?

Then that would nake him an excellent lawyer. Nobody believes lawyers are completely honest in the courtroom, either prosecution or defense. So if he can use his age as means of excusing poor performance in the minds of the jurors, then it is tactful. Granted, it is a dirty tactic, but if you always stand on morals, you will never win a case. A defense lawyer should do whatever it takes, within the boundaries of the law, to create reasonable doubt.

Say what you want about the defense attorney, he's a good man. He's represented many innocent clients in his life time and is well known for it. Even if this guy is guilty, everyone deserves counsel.

He may have been a great attorney at one time, but he never got his groove going in this case. He was scatter brained, mixed up dates, names, and facts. I think it’s time for him to retire.
@bryanowens8125 жыл бұрын
My goodness! The basic mistakes his closing argument is riddled with! He gets-dates of murders wrong, names of witnesses wrong, detective's names wrong, can't remember prosecutor who crossed witness, mispronounces his own witness's name, the only thing he gets right- "ah ah ah I can't remember .."
@Chris-Alia5 жыл бұрын
@@bryanowens812 Yep he was a mess. I never said he did a great job here. He was awful. He even said that one of the witnesses had sex with "Miss Kutcher." I'm talking about his legacy. That's why I said "say what you want..."

@@Chris-Alia for sure! It's important to respect the contributions people like him have made, and I'm sure he's a good guy too. Honestly, what could he have done anyway? He was dealt a 3 and a 5, while the prosecutor is holding a pair of Aces! 🀄
