watching Benedict start hanging out with superstar celebrities like Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp is amazing because I remember him back when he was nobody. I've seen his career from the beginning blossom into something wonderful and I'm really happy for him. I hope that he preserve who he is in hollywood and his privacy.

He was nobody? He (as all us) is someone, Maybe no famous... I saw him for first time in an single episode of "To the end of the Earth" (ten years ago), I dont knew his name, or even the film name. But I was really impressed with his acting. I was speaking about him for years and years as one of my favorites ones, ( but none meet him!) Since I discover his name on "Amazing Grace". So get his name, I can search any movie he does and watched them. When I saw him at first time, (the movie was on spanish!) and I cant heard his real voice, but I think: Its sure he is british! All man here are great actors, but british are more expresive and amazing because they play many roles on theater, a hard public. I´m glad Eddie won the Oscar, but of course, my favorite was (and always will be) Benedict.

Enjoyable but they pretty much ignored Benedict Cumberbatch. He is one of the most intelligent actors in the world, let alone in that studio. Completely ignored for large parts of this, a bit frustrating!
@Bellecinno8 жыл бұрын
+Mrsbeatle1968 I totally agree, but I also think that it depends on the atmosphere and the people you're with, if the atmosphere gives you a certain vibe, let's say it's a positive, friendly and engaging one, then you'd participate or engage with them, in here, I think Benedict felt something idk and knew when to talk and when not to because I think that the vibe there was a bit off .. by off I mean, he might of sense there was a bit of a "stand offish" attitude in one of the actors there and perhaps that pulled him back from wanting to participate and just listen... if you see him in other interviews you'll see him talkative because the atmosphere is welcoming and also the interviewers include him they make sure he's not left out, and there are others like the Hobbit comicon interview he didn't really talk much because he wasn't that involved in the movie and knew he couldn't participate much in the interview ... but yeah, you're right, Benedict is one of the actors that shouldn't be ignored because he's such a talented and intelligent man.. what a shame.
@heathergittens32233 жыл бұрын
@@Bellecinno Agreed to both you and Mrsbeatle1968. I thought I was the only one that noticed. They overtalk Benedict by giving him the royal shaft. Granted that he is new to the Oscars, but I think Benedict was invited to that circle because he got nominated for Best Actor and that's it.

+Elif Sevgi No but see I was actually very GLAD about that. And trust me, this is coming from a *massive* Sherlock Holmes fan (well, I'm talking about the character in general... I'm a huge admirer of the BBC series, I like the WB films okay enough, I gave up on 'Elementary' after 3 -- not unsurprisingly -- awful episodes). See, it seems to me that would've been the more typical, Access Hollywood-esque thing to do, and honestly it could've come across as a bit lame, especially the amount they probably would've tried to go into it. I'm much more intrigued by the notion of and excited for that you just know they'll have shared at least one scene as Dr. Strange & Iron Man (aka Stephen Strange & Tony Stark) by the end of Infinity War Part II, if not even hopefully sooner.

I feel as if though he's just listening. He's taking it all in. One thing I learned about Cumberbatch is that even though he can talk superfast, when other people are present, he wants to listen and doesn't dominate the conversation. I also get the feeling that he doesn't need to fill the silence all the time. Some people get antsy when it's quiet.

You can tell by their body language and their faces that Robert Downey Jr. and Michael Keaton know that they are in the presence of two great and real actors as are Benedict and Eddie. I'm not saying they are not talented but these two are way above them. And those 2 know it. Steve Carell was very humble.

I agree with you about Benedict and Eddie, I just wanna know how you figured it out in your conclusion..
@SunyiSideUp7 жыл бұрын
I'm confused by this statement. First of all, it sounds like you're saying Eddie and Benedict are inherently better actors. Which is patently false. Robert Downey Jr is a multiple-Oscar nominee. You probably have only seen him in Iron Man, or even Sherlock Holmes, but god, he's amazing in Chaplin (Oscar nom, BAFTA win), and as controversial as the role was, there's a reason why his role in Tropic Thunder is one of only a few comedic roles to be nominated for any acting Oscar. Downey was an Oscar nominated actor before Eddie and Benedict were even heard of. Before they were even acting professionally. As for Michael, his role in Birdman might have been his first Oscar nomination, but it was well deserved, because he's brilliant in it. It isn't his fault that it took so long. He played Batman, and was typecast for a while (like you're ignorantly trying to do to Robert for playing Iron Man.) Further, Benedict is now playing a superhero, himself, and him being Doctor Strange doesn't make him suddenly a less good actor. (He's also a little one-note compared to Downey, who can literally transform. Again, watch some of his earlier work.) I'm not saying Benedict and Eddie aren't brilliant actors. I'm just saying you can't count out a legend like Robert Downey Jr. just because you haven't perused his filmography. I doubt RDJ was sitting there feeling anything next to Eddie and Benedict, because honestly, he's more famous and higher billed than both of them. And Michael Keaton is a legend in his own right, seriously doubt he was intimidated by a couple of British kids. I think y'all hear British accents and automatically think people are better actors (or you take serious roles as evidence of being better actors, which is similarly bullshit.) Just because Benedict and Eddie have mostly chosen serious, heavy roles in their film careers and Robert has comfortably settled into Iron Man after killing it for nearly 30 years as an actor, doesn't make either of them better than him. And again, now that Benedict is Doctor Strange, will his acting chops diminish? Nope. But he'll be Stephen Strange for the foreseeable future, and it will likely take up much of his film career (just like every MCU actor has to mostly focus on the MCU.) It's annoying, honestly. You know nothing about these actors. Also, Robert will eventually get his Oscar, when he decides to focus on it. But I think dude likes just playing Iron Man, right now, because it's fun for him. And, again, he's had a loooooong career, and been through a lot in his personal life. I think he's earned the right to play fun roles.
