This is legitimately the scariest ride I have ever seen, even the things that are supposed to be fun are terrifying. The music, the lighting, the way so many things fall towards/lunge at the boat, the setting in a cave? So many choices were made here that came together to have this be scarier than any haunted house attraction

I am scrolling through this comment section and am legitematly confused. Eversince i was 4 years old this was my favourite ride in the Phantasialand. I dont get whats so scary tbh. Sure theres the girl screaming and the columns falling towards you but i always found that to be not that scary. And cmon the part with the monkeys and tarzan is really funny. But i guess this is just cause i am used to the ride XD

This is a very old ride, completely unlike the rest of the park which is why it is so spooky. Especially to think there's a very long, pitch black roller coaster right above. I'm sure many good memories were here once :)

@@jmp_fr it was already broken when the vid was shot. It was supposed to lift up to the surface. The Fisher man was broken as well: for long, long times he had fallen to the back, it gave a nice nasty tip-in-the-water-sound and next moment the boat sank. By the time the steering got quite messed up as you can see in the video. 😂

I find it sad that it’s gone now but I managed to get my last ride on it without even knowing it was closing it’s a shame to see such an iconic ride get removed from the park but I think in a good way it was a smart decision because now the park can focus on trying to capture a more modern approach and build a world class dark ride on the level of europa park or even one of the disney parks. Fingers crossed it’s still a boat ride 🤞

I think maintenance was just way to expensive for an attraction only a few people actually ride. All these mechanic parts in a room filled with water and without proper ventilation can easily break due to constant humid air. Sad tho I always likes it

I loved this ride ❤ when I was a child The Wizard Of Oz scene was a scene from Hitchcock classic The Birds. They kept the house, got rid of all the birds and dressed Tippi Hedren as Glinda. Vertigo is the film that the falling lady scene is from and another Hitchcock film.

Die Bildqualität ist echt klasse. :) Ich konnte im Wintertraum auch wieder die Hollywood Tour erleben und auch wenn es mich traurig stimmt, was aus diesem schönen Darkride geworden ist - jetzt muss man sogar schon die Spinne an die Leine nehmen, damit sie nicht davonläuft^^ - ist es doch ein Klassiker, der einfach immer wieder dazugehört. Insofern bin ich noch für jede weitere Fahrt dankbar. :)

Echt gute Beleuchtung und Tonqualität, da versteht man die endlich mal. Aber schade dass die Vögel entfernt wurde um die Attraktion kinderfreundlicher zu machen. Ich fand als Kind diese Passage mit Abstand am besten. Frankenstein mit dem Geschrei dass man bis zum weißen Hai hören kann is doch schließlich auch noch da. Der Zauberer von Oz passt gar nicht in diese eigentlich düstere Attraktion hinein.

holy cow, that first jaws scene makes me scared. those two sharks look like zombie sharks, and my submechanophobia got triggered by it. noow that giant spider reminded me when I got terrified by harry potter and forbidden journey ride. and it triggers my arachnophobia and entomophobia. that kingkong also looks like zombie king kong

Habe mich nie da rein getraut. Selbst da nicht wo ich mit der Schul-Klasse da war. Hatte schon damals schiss vor dem King Kong drinnen gehabt. Dafür war ich ja in GALAXY drin gewesen. Zwei mal. Unter Zwang. ;-)

Ja... der neue Themenbereich wirkt für mich auch so: mhm gerade sind Vikinger in, machen wir das damit. Gar nicht mehr so verspielt und verträumt, wie früher mit dem Hang zum etwas Morbiden, wie mit der Geisterrikscha oder der Silbermine

Any type of animatronic is scary enough add the darkness, randomness and HUGENESS (of that big ass King Kong) and it’s a no go for me 👌🏼😐 plus the SOUNDS 🙅🏻‍♀️

Ich bin wohl nie damit gefahren (oder kann mich vllt einfach nicht mehr erinnern), aber es erinnert mich so heftig an das ICE AGE Adventure im Movie Park. Da waren Sid & Co. auch echt ranzig mit der Zeit & der Geruch 💀 Das sind einfach Attraktionen die unfassbar viel Arbeit und Liebe benötigen und da ist beides wohl einfach nicht gegeben. Schade. Aber den Märchenwald fand ich im Phantasialand als Kind mindestens genauso unheimlich, wie die Hollywood Tour hier im Video. 😂 Dafür war 1001 eine Nacht & die Wikinger Boote einfach nur ❤. Naja, Zeiten ändern sich.
