Honestly, I really like how we are getting a Christian's view of this song. Because it's true. A LOT of people use other faith as a way to sell. I think it's disgusting to use a person's faith for marketing and to make them buy things. I'm not Christian myself, but I still think it's wrong.

While HU are not completely religious by any means, "The Day of the Dead" can mean a couple things. One being the day that the dead will rise, meaning the end of the world, as told in the Bible. The 2nd coming of Christ, when all souls will rise and be reckoned with at the Lord's hand of judgement. But it's a double entendre of course, because the group is referring to themselves as well, and that they're coming to undo everything built up by hypocrisy and smash the rules. Just by the title alone and the chorus.

I think Danny, J3T and Funny Fan are all religious, and you can somewhat tell by their lyrical inspiration sometimes. J Dog also. But they’re not over the top because at no point was HU meant to be a Christian band, they were supposed to be a shock factor group that carried on the legacy on Slim Shady, but West Side style. They’ve obviously grown too, building more serious songs now.

Nice bro. I thought the same for the video interpretation, as you stated the video calls out televangelists and how alot of them are fraudulent. To me the lyrics always struck me as an anthem like track for the band as well as voicing that beauty and happiness can come from dark and ugly places. Yeah they needed to be called out, and no I’m not haha, just always hear about what he’s done and his net worth, and when disasters hit he refused to open his church as a shelter, just a lot of things I’m not fond of for a “Christian Leader”

My immediate family and I were lucky. Yeah that whole situation became a blot on his reputation by many down here.

I agree with you! I love the fact that they talked about this to call out the fake Christians of the world. If these guys can see through the lies enough to want to write a song about it, then it really is a topic worth discussing. Respect to HU. Since you mentioned Joel Osteen (whose worth multimillions) you might as well mention Rick Warren (who is also worth multimillions) who I consider to be the God Father of the 'New Christianity' or Prosperity Theology or 'New Age Christianity'. There's many more of them out there who don't teach from the Bible and what it's really saying. T.D. Jakes, Joyce Meyer, Paula White, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, the list is long! They all use/twist Bible verses to sell their point like "God says 10% tithe so you gotta give me--I mean the Church--money every Sunday! It goes straight to my bank account--I mean to improve the church!" or "Jesus drank wine all the time with his disciples so that's why it's okay for us Christians to drink alcohol, and if we get stupid drunk who cares! We're still going to Heaven!" or "It's okay to swear like a sailor and watch porn and lust after women because if you've already said that special prayer, your still going to Heaven! So live like the world!" It's the false preachers like the ones I listed who paint the picture to non-Christians that ALL Christians are like that and believe that garbage and that's why those people end up not believing in God or Jesus or the Bible. But unfortunately, Christianity sells, and just like Johnny says, they welcome all the sheep, those who are gullible and weak-minded, just to get their money.
