Check out their breakout hit "Charly' from 1992 which has samples from a public information film telling us to always tell your mummy before you go off somewhere on the advice of a cartoon cat! I got to see these guys many years ago, with soundgarden & it was quite the time! They were so popular here in Australia. I love that we have these "bringing" kind of bands that get the staunch rock fiends & metalheads just outside the comfort zone. The other band great at that is Beastie Boys

Have you done "No Good (Start the Dance)" already? < my favourite song of the Prodigy! ♥ The video you reacted to was recorded in Germany and was broadcasted live on german tv, too! This is from the "Rock am Ring 2009" festival at the (F1-) race track "Nürnburg Ring" ... around 90,000 people attending. Btw.: The first "Rock am Ring" festival was held in 1985 feat. U2, Foreigner and Joe Cocker, etc. ... Now it's the biggest rock festival in Germany! (< just rock festival, not the biggest festival nor a metal festival like Wacken, etc.), ... in june this year it celebrates its 40th anniversary! *yeah

If you want to,dive deeper in electronic music with a slightly different spin than Prodigy, you may want to check Front 242, which is industrial / EBM. Their classic are e.g. Masterhit , Headhunter and I’m Rythnus bleiben. Check out a live version if possible.

Morning all, I was fortunate to see The Prodigy live at Oasis's Knebworth show in 1996, they were amazing. Keith flint started out as a dancer along with Maxim and Leroy. I think 97's Fat of the land was the first album Keith and Maxim performed vocals. Liam Howlet made most of the Beats etc.

Guys I love you! Now that's out of the way, Being 52 next February, I saw The Prodigy live in 1994 when I was 21, 1996, 3 times when I was 23 and 1998 when I was 25. Not sure about over the pond with you guys but over here in the UK they were huge! Dudes, they had mosh pits that almost rivalled some of the thrash and death metal gigs I went to back in the day. It was a rise up against a lot of political bullshit with their "Jilted Generation" album, but the "Fat of the Land" album really hit the mainstream, but it was still superb.

Prodigy's sound evolved with each album, and "Jilted Generation" definitely had metal influences before "Fat of the Land," but they definitely were not the only ones doing it. Especially towards the late '90s. Just off the top of my head, I can think of Pitchshifter, Atari Teenage Riot, Skunk Anansie (sometimes), and I definitely wouldn't be surprised if any early hardcore techno artists were throwing distorted guitars into the mix, either.

It was on their former album 'Music for the jilted generation' You would be doing yourself a disservice by not hearing it. Voodoo People, Their law, Don't stop/start the dance, are certified Prodigy classics. Harder and less mainstream than Fat of the land.

Vivo en un pueblo muy pequeño al norte de Argentina. Fines de 1997, mi hermano (mellizos, falleció hace un par de años) ) iba un par de días a Bs. As. y llevó mi lista de encargos: Prodigy - Fat of the Land ( o cualquiera que encuentres de Prodigy). De los pocos CD's que aún conservo nunca me desprenderé de los que me trajo aquella vez, aparte del Fat of... me trajo Music for the Jilted Generation, "Orblivion" (The Orb) y "Tales of Ephidrina" (Amorphous Androgynous[TFSOL]). Son mis discos favoritas para trabajar, sobre todo el Tales of Ephidrina, no creo que sea material para un video pero si quieren disfrutar de psicodelia electrónica noventera bien aprendida de los 70's no se pierdan esa joya. Un abrazo a todos.

Prodigy are legendary. I'm 37 and still to this day I haven't heard someone not liking them from the people I know and have met, no matter the music they listen. Vodoo People is still my favorite song from them. Been once on them live and it was a great show except for Maxim. I don't get his purpose on stage. Dude ruins every song with his talking. Supposed to be pumping the crowd but he doesn't have the voice for it. And his scream attemps... Jesus. Literally needs a sock in his mouth.

Your probably better off reacting to the tracks off the albums to be fair. Not all the live shows did these master pieces justice. Voodoo people was off first album the Experience album, the very first album. Other tunes on that amazing record that are absolutely bangers are.... Charlie says.... Outer space.... Your love.... And many many more.. The second album was " Music for a giltted generation " These first two albums were bench mark UK underground rave music. Every track was dropped in someone's set every weekend of every week.!! And we jumped and shape shifted to it.!!! I personally still mix those tunes today, 34/35 years later.!! We in England/Britain back in the late 80s early 90s took the house music scene and turned it into underground rave hardcore scene.!! Top one nice one get sorted.!! What's ya name, where ya from and you on.!!!! That was a common greating back in the day. Our chemist's we're producing the purest and best quality MDMA ever to grace planet Earth.. Love Doves ( solid pills ) Triple Xs ( XXX solid pills) Clear caps ( capsules) Red&Blacks ( capsules) Red&yellows ( capsules) New yorkers ( solid pills) Callies ( solid pills) Disco biscuits ( solid pills) M25s ( solid pills) The list was endless and many a great weekend was had by all, no trouble, no fights no agro. Just one love, unitie and respect. The powers that be at the time put out public heath warnings about what they perceived to be the risks of taking ecstasy ,including later life paranoia or other heath complications.!! None of which happened to any of us from that era. Mid 90s things got dirty, the wrong people involved in the scene, and people started dying because of those people. . Ref the Essex Boys.
