Lead singer Michael Paulson originally started a Danish black metal band called Dominus. He growled in virtually every song. Completely different style. Lead guitarist Rob Caggiano was originally a guitarist for anthrax. Drummer John Larsen has been with Michael since the beginning. And bassist Kasper Boye Larsen joined in 2016. The song deals with Michael moving into an old house and experiencing supernatural occurrences. It’s an original song. Btw Guns and Roses did a completely different song with the same name. He ends some of his lines with that familiar James Hetfield “yeaaaaah” because he has always been a huge Metallica fan. Thanks again for this reaction! Be well.

Early Volbeat was described as Elvis Metal and you can hear a bit Elvis in the vocals. Love Volbeat and no studio engineering in the vocals, they're also one of the best live bands around.

Before starting Volbeat, Michael Poulsen was the vocalist in the deathmetal band Dominus. They made 4 albums and 2 demos before disbanding and it was only after this that Michael tried "singing" so no classical training.

I was disappointed by Seal The Deal and RRR despite enjoying a handful of songs from those, overall they fell flat as albums imo. Servant Of The Mind was more of what I was looking for from the band, the riffs and energy were back (although I would’ve kept Wait a Minute… and Dagen For off it, they’re distractingly out of place)

"I've never heard him growl". Well the lead singer Michael Poulsen used to be in a death metal band before Volbeat. You can hear some nice growling in the demo version of their song "Evelyn". Can definitely recommend it!

Love Volbeat! Saw them with Slipknot back in 2019 I believe it was and although it wasn't the first song from them I heard but, the one that got me started down the Volbeat rabbit hole was "Doc Holliday". Its Johan Olsen, he is actually a lead singer in his own dansih band as well called "magtens korridorer". And no for evigt is not German its danish and means "for ever". Vildbeat is a danish band.

The For Evigt chorus is not german : Volbeat is a danish band , and the singer singing the chorus in For evigt is Johan Olsen , he is not a member off Volbeat , but another great danish band called Magtens Korridorer, the singer off Volbeat Michael is doing the english part !

Volbeat are a great band and Lola Montez and black Rose are my favs. But I have a song and video you guys should do, it's different but brilliant. Best in the business. Tragically underrated for a long time now. Metal elitists don’t like them because he sounds too good and doesn’t growl. But I don’t think he cares! They aren’t about being pigeonholed, they just make really good music that fits in several genres and no genres. Funny thing is, he used to growl when he was “singer” in death metal band “ Dominus”. I’m glad he switched,,, he’s way too talented for that crap!!!
