If I had to choose a guitarist I'd say Herman Li. But I think they come as a package. Both guitarists have been there throughout even though a few other band members have changed over the years.

You could say they come in a pack: Herman Li is the shreding machine, on a technical level his playing is insane. Sam Totmat is the mastermind, he's the main composer of all DragonForce songs.

Interesting. I see the majority of people say that DragonForce don't have any quality besides speed, but I like the composition of many songs, this included. One of my favorites is Symphony of The Night, quite different from things like Through The Fire and The Flames or Operation Ground and Pound. DragonForce it's not a genius band (well, in technique they are), but it's fun to listen to.

Shame you did this video version since it cuts out about a minute more guitar work at the end. The band comes out of London, although several members are not British-born. Seen them live and they are note perfect; amazing. There is a great video on YT of them playing on a cruise ship and Herman Lee plays one solo whilst underwater in the pool!

DragonForce are a British band - Herman Li and Sam Totman wrote the guitar arrangements and played in the studio recording for the album version of Babymetal's 'Road of Resistance' - and they played it live with Babymetal at an awards show in London in 2015 (not long after they had smuggled Babymetal into Download in the UK and invited them on stage to play 'Gimme Chocolate' with them after the organiser said they would never play there). There is a video of the awards show performance of 'Road of Resistance' on KZbin if you're interested. There is a drum cover of 'Through the Fire and Flames' by Junna, a Japanese girl, on KZbin - and I think there is another of the DragonForce drummer reacting to her cover.

DragonForce smuggled them in anyway and invited them on stage - they attracted a huge crowd as word had got out ... the next year they had their own set on the main stage and have been regulars ever since.

I mean....just the entire of every Alestorm album is amazing. They’re albums I can listen to from start to finish without skipping a song and I honestly can’t say that about many albums over my 37 years on this planet. Can probably name 5 or 6 more. At a generous guess, maybe 10. That’s it. (except for Back Through Time and Curse of the Crystal Coconut) But even saying that. Maybe I skip 3-4 songs over two albums?.

DragonForce was the last concert I saw before the pandemic. I’m so glad we went! I was able to take my son as his first medal concert for his 10th birthday (2019). They were amazing as always, and we were right up front at the little club they played in Reno- so they saw my son singing along with everything because he knows the words to all their songs. We waited around after and they gave my son signed drumsticks and the set list and we got a bunch of pictures. They were so cool with him!!!! They seem like genuinely nice guys. On another note, I hope you listen to the studio version at some point. The music video cuts out a HUGE chunk of the song.

I remember first hearing this song on Guitar Hero III. Think of Slayer meeting speedy guitars and you got this band. I've been hooked on these guys since their third album Inhuman Rampage released back when I was in junior high. These guys still rock, even though they have a new singer now. This music video just shows how these guys' guitars can be tricked to give off their signature sounds and I love this band. 🤘🤘🤘

I don't look much like a metalhead (tbh, more like a recovering teeny bopper lmao), but I used to have some regular metalhead customers when I was bartending a few years back, and they made it their mission to play this song at least once every shift as soon as they found out I was already aware of DragonForce. One of the most entertaining concerts I've ever been to. I remember they had an intermission solo where both guitar players, bass player, and the keyboardist(w/key-tar) all stood in a circle and played the neck of their instrument while simultaneously crossing arms over to play the bottom half of the instrument next to them. Absolutely mind blowing.

This is speed metal with power metal vocals. A lot of people assume power metal has to be fast because this song is their first introduction to the genre thanks to Guitar Hero. Power metal can be any tempo. Sabaton is power metal as well. I actually have a video series on my channel describing the different metal genres.
