Ministry is basically 1 guy (Al Jourgensen) in the studio w/ a few studio musicians... Paul Barker (bass) was a longtime collaborator until 2002... But like Nine Inch Nails... Filter... Godflesh... they need live musicians to go on tour... Mike Scaccia (guitar) was a longtime collaborator and friend w/ Jourgensen until he tragically died in 2012 from an apparent heart attack... His death nearly killed Al Jourgensen, who drank himself to near death in his grief... 'N.W.O.' was recorded in 1992 and they sampled George Bush Sr. on the track... Years later, Ministry sampled speeches by W. Bush Jr. on the track "No W"... (and albums 'Houses of the mole'... 'Rio Grand blood'... and 'The last sucker') ...Al Jourgensen made no bones about his antagonism against W. Bush as POTUS... he experienced W. Bush as the governor of Texas and couldn't believe that disaster of a bloke could become President of the USA... and sure enough, the W. Bush was an unmitigated disaster as voters stupidly fell for W. Bush's stupidity... Jourgensen expressed his antagonism against Donald Trump on later records as well.

Ministry - Revenge (1981) [HQ] - do that one tomorrow. Here do this one, this song will probably blow your mind. Ministry started in the early 80s. They have a huge pop song from 1981. You can kind of tell how they got to where they are today from then. They used a lot of synths back then too. This video played on MTV all the time, and played on the pop radio station around here. And, it feels like an 80s pop somewhat industrial song. Nowhere near as fast or metal. "Ministry - Revenge (1981) [HQ]" Still Ministry but doesn't sound like the stuff you reacted to yet. They have one of the biggest Halloween songs ever. And, you probably heard it, and you might have heard Revenge too. Try their Halloween songs Ministry - Every Day Is Halloween

Found a old cassette from my older brother from "1000 Homo DJs" which from my understanding is Ministry before Ministry. They were even crazier back then. Story: for Ministry's first album "The Land of R@pe and Honey" there is a dead Nazi Soldier for the album cover. The record label initially refused it. Later on the singer found some roadkill on his way to into the studio. Still mad about the situation, he grabbed it, brought it with him and threw it on the guys desk and said "here's your new album cover." They were allowed to use the original artwork after that. A detail or so is probably wrong but that's the jysk of the story.

You guys should seriously just marathon the whole (original) album, Psalm 69. Generally considered their best album. For good reason. But for more of the same genre, KMFDM, My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult, NIN, Skinny Puppy, even early Marilyn Manson. Al Jorgensen of Ministry also went on to form Lard with Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys. So basically, industrial punk. . I may be talking out my arse, but I seem to remember being told they started out as New Romantic before giving birth to industrial techno. Might have been something else, but they definitely started out in a VASTLY different genre. Not Christian though. Like I said - Psalm 69 is special for a reason.
