George Michael. I'd forgotten he passed away in 2016. We lost so many greats that year, including David Bowie and Alan Rickman, and all three so suddenly and with no warnings, and all favorites of mine. That was a rough year. I knew of several others by their names. Thanks so much for the video, Arthur, and thanks so much to everyone doing the legwork to make it possible.
@Mummapuss2267 ай бұрын
Sadly that year also saw the passing of Eagles’s singer Glenn Frey, Prince, Leonard Cohen, Pete Burns, Jon English, Rick Parfitt (the guitarist from the band which had the Down Down hit on those Cole’s’ Ads) as well as Andrew Sachs, Gene Wilder, Ronnie Corbett, Charmian Carr, Bruce Mansfield and Max Walker. It was a very sad year for the entertainment industry.

I really appreciate this grave tour - As a child I loved visiting cemeteries and reading gravestones - It sparked my imagination about those people who had passed away wondering what sort of lives they had - it also helped me understand mortality and we're only here a short time so make the best of it - Today one of your featured grave stones particularly moved me to tears - It was Edith Cavell who I knew nothing about - A caring English nurse was captured by the Germans & executed for protecting allied soldiers in 1915 - After the war her remains were were returned to Britain where she received a State Funeral at Westminster Abbey 1919 - My God she deserved the highest accolade.

It’s 3am EST 5-18-24 in Detroit and I’m finally off work and was able to finish the whole vid. My personal fav of the graves visited in this episode is George Michael. At 45, there are a few artists that had a profound, lifelong effect on my taste in music, ( in some cases, men), and are still in my top 5 favorite artists. The late, great, MJ is #1 but GM is a very close second. I was 5-6 when Careless Whisper came out and I will never forget, watching the video and being absolutely stunned and amazed by how beautiful he was and how amazing and haunting his voice was. I still get goosebumps to this day hearing Father Figure or Careless Whisper….. R.I.P GM…. We love you and forever miss you. Thank you for your talent and impact on the world. ☺️
