I don’t hate nepotism and its beneficiaries but its so refreshing seeing people who are actually self made.

“Self made” by her family and teachers…which she wonderfully acknowledges..they and more made her able to be “Self-made”/independent and interdependent (how she does such a great job creating and working with a team) ultimately after being quite dependent first . Abbot is so much about “The Village” that creates us and not so much about individualism which i appreciate.

I love that she said she doesn’t want to tackle important issues off the bat. Like myself I want to tell stories, like my comic, that are fantasy or sci-fi. The important messages will naturally show up

So glad CthaG has been hyping up the show on the Breakfast Club! I’m pulling for Quinta💪🏾 I first saw her on A Black Lady Sketch Show and I instantly became a fan. I had wondered what happened to her in the 2nd season. I was so excited when I found out that she had created Abbott Elementary! I watch every week and I am pulling for much success for her!!

Loving the JW discourse. I was also raised a JW, but I knew at 16 years old, it was not for me.

I was raised JW, but never got baptised. Its not 4 me either. But it's rough growing up in it, I respect it but not for me.

@@Getitgirlllll4717 I was also never baptized. The lifestyle is definitely a strict lifestyle. One of my best friends was baptized at 10. She's is now disfellowshipped and married to her wife. Quinta's points about the structure being beneficial as a safety net, and the disconnect with holidays also resonated for me.

@@thesmileyeffect I agree right, the structure is beneficial and we were raised w/great morals and values, respecting our elders, and so many other things, etc. Bad association spoils useful habits that def. Still sticks w me today which I appreciate. But It's a lot pressure esp when your are a kid and that pressure and guilt applied that people dnt realize affect you. Like I jst turned 40 last week and my dad still trying to get my brother and I to convert I'm jst like stop! It's not right 4 me but I respect it!

@@PrincessAmmanii girl, every year I decline my mother's Memorial invite. She is never going to give up. I even remember being introduced to a woman when I was a teenager who had left and returned. Looking back it feels like it was a not so subtle way to try and encourage me to stay. I was so ready to go!

Quinta is amazing and I have not laughed so hard at a tv like I do when I watch Abbott Elementary!!! Side note: Charlemagne know he can act a fool when interviewing folks so I don’t know why he’s acting surprised. I wrote him off when I saw The Breakfast Club interview with Lil Mama. I only watched this because of Quinta.
