Have you changed the servo in your maxx yet if so what kind did you put in it? I’m looking for a fast high torque metal gear servo and I’m not sure what would be the best.

Run 6s with lower gearing and it will run cooler because you won't be pulling so many amps you'll keep the same speed but your esc and motor will be so much happier because it won't be getting so hot. Amps = heat.

Not sure if you e taken one apart but the HH internals make my castle 1717 internals look like junk. Wish they made a “big block” version so I could drop one in my limitless.

What gearing did you use with the hobbywing? 24/46? And how was the temps? Having trouble gearing my max 8 combo atm stripped the 50t spur with a 20t pinion

To the mt410 or to the fire hydrant? I've got the mt410 and I have yet to break it even though I routinely jump it 20+ feet in the air. The thing is a tank.

How do you guys think this would run in my ARRMA Outcast 6s EXB? I’m looking at this motor over the Castle 1520, wanting to keep the stock ESC for now. Any input would be greatly appreciated, I’d be keeping stock gearing until I got a read of the temps, I do have fans and a heatsink though.

Awesome run, driving and review. Love that motor. I ran the 4274S Smooth version for nearly 3 years now on my Killer Wasp TRX4. But I'm with you on the "no 6s" thing. It would tear my truck apart with that 1/6th size rotor. Hahaha. It's actually not a bad crawler motor...in fact...its really good. Awesome Torque-density, great start-up and really good run-time. With a fresh 2700mAh 3s at Pro-Line By The Fire it ran 3 hours driving continuously and completed 3 trail before going dead driving back to camp.... Here's a short review I did a couple of years ago. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fajEfYqjpapnesk

It's a 1/8th motor. Per Holmes' own specs, 19.1x 41mm rotor, has a very similar size rotor to a standard Castle 1515 spec motor that is 19.1x39mm which I measured myself (the rotor is 44mm long but the magnets are only 39mm of it). It is worth noting that the size of the rotor isn't the only determining factor for torque. My 1515 spec motor pulls less current on the same voltage and is noticeably less powerful than my TP4040 motor, roughly the same specs.

@@KTMcaptain Good to know. I'm going off of the conversations John and I have had through Facebook...and that the 4274S 1/8th motor has an oversized rotor very close to those in a typical 1/6th size motor.
@KTMcaptain
@KTMcaptain 3 жыл бұрын
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 I guess it really depends on the 1/6th scale motors and applications you are specing from. . It's definitely in-between the 1515 and 1717 series castle motors, and I don't know the context of your conversation so I can't comment to that. . The 1717 is recommended for light 1/6th scale and 1/8th scale applications. The 1717 has a 3mm larger stator and 2mm longer rotor. . As far as performance 1/8th scale motors goes, the Holmes' motor is very similar specs from what I've found around. I would definitely have ran his if I knew his specs and ratings when I needed one. . I misread my spec sheet, my 1515 rotor magnets are 39.07 long not 39.7 (rounded to 40). My TP4040 rotor is 4.5mm longer.

@@KTMcaptain thanks again. Good to know those specs. I have so many Puller Pro's of all sizes and kv along with Revolver's and other motors....way more motors than my boys(young adults)I have combined. That's probably pretty normal for hobbyist looking for the perfect motor.

@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 yeah, the puller pros are really nice. When Holmes puts out their silenced speed controller I plan on getting a revolver.
