I want my Jetson electric bike to be the baddest. Yes I only wanted to go 30 miles an hour that’s it that is it. I believe anything over 30 miles an hour on this Jetson well I can tell you it’s a very sketchy only because it’s a smaller bike With smaller wheels 14 inch wheels 30 miles an hour yeah I want to safely be able to get my electric bike to the speed of 30. I tested my bike. I’ve written it all over the place. I got to know how to use it what he could do what it cannot do, I’ve reached speed of 30 miles an hour going down very big hills. Praying to God my brakes work of course I checked them before I went down the hill and not the front brakes. Don’t hit front brakes going down really bad big hill so in here, I’m definitely taken so many gave me advice to do a.Shunt mod and I just looked into it and I don’t agree with it because it’s gonna heat up my whole bike and start ruining the wires who knows probably catch up on 🔥 put the shunt mod could work if done correctly just not on😂 my Jetson so I already have 19 miles an hour and it’s been fun so I’m upgrading my battery to 36v 20ah and for now it’s a big upgrade for me thank you for your advice. I could still use some more advice. I do understand everything has to be on the same system so that’s why I didn’t get a 48 V with a 20 amp battery because it changes the system and it could ruin my bike so because I don’t have enough money to, change the whole system, but I do have enough money to last longer and the speed. I’m getting right now is good so when I put the battery in, I already know I’m gonna be going about 2324 miles an hour. That’s good for me and it’s safe without heating up and destroying my motor and my controller.

This is a toy for you the Jetson electric bike is my race car is my traveling kit. It’s everything I use to travel to go anywhere if I would have been able to afford a bigger version I would’ve just saved for it, but it didn’t turn out that way, I saw it I bought it and now I love it so I’m going to put whatever I can into it. I’m going to invest in my Jetson. I’m not going to buy any other electric bike.🏍️ So if the money is there to get another electric bike, not gonna use that money to get another electric bike I’m going to use it to make this the baddest Jetson anyone has ever seen. I’m gonna post it and explain how I got it that way, but it seems like there is a jetson family but there are also other bikes that have their own set of families but the Jetson it’s very cheap but it’s very powerful and some people do so understand the power that’s in the Jetson. They don’t talk about the continuous so yes, I really appreciate the upgrades and things that you are doing to the Jetson because it might be something I’m interested in the future. My goal is to stop at a 52 V system great content.

I spent the last 5 months making a parts list. The last couple of things get here over the next 2 weeks. I am running a switch so the 6 aH will be an emergency tank, and a 14 aH will be the main. I have replaced the entire steering assembly including the headset; 20 inch suspension forks are the business. BMX bars, 9 inch rise. 46 tooth crank with 170mm arms and extra thin peddles. The 6 aH battery fits in a "scooter bar bag" if you cut out the purse like bits first. The whole thing weights about 12 pounds less than stock.

Lithium Ion is safe (same cells as in your cell phone). Lithium Polymer are dangerous and should be stored at a nominal voltage (25-40% state of charge). Most ebikes, if not all, are Lithium Ion, not Lithium Polymer, so you should be fine.

Like a scooter there may be a loop in the controller if you cut it should get you more speed as well but always check it out and see b4 you cut anything please 🤝🏼🫡

I would pick up a diy kit for the jetson bolt from you. I was given a bolt to help get me around town due to no vehicle. But original owner says a wire fried from charging port to battery. But I weigh a good 245# and a longer run time would be needed.

​@@Zerobytexai I used a 48v 20Ah battery and a 48v - 350 watt (6 mosfet) controller from China via Ebay. Everything fits inside the existing case. Top speed down hill was 24mph. Average speed was 20mph. I can hold full throttle my entire commute and nothing gets even remotely warm. The motor states it's 350 watts - but I've ran 900 watts through it - it handles it fairly well. Just tested a 1500watt - 12 mosfet - 35A controller on the same bike. Top speed doesn't change. However, you do get more torque for going up steep hills (no peddling needed) - and quicker acceleration. With this setup (1500 watt controller) the motor, battery, and controller gets warm after a few minutes of full throttle and the controller won't fit inside existing case. Using the stock motor - this setup seems a bit risky. You'll eventually blow the motor. For the job, you'll need a voltmeter - 48v is system voltage and 5v or less is a signal.

So much easier to install a 750w, 48v Bafang Mid Motor (BBS02B) than trying to install an upgraded controller, IMO - I just did that on my Jetson Bolt Pro coupled with a 52v 'shark battery' (installed on a rear rack) and I'm getting 19-22 mph out of this pocket rocket and one can keep the stock motor set up as a backup alternative. Yep, it's bit costly ($600) but it came with all the wiring, a selection of digital displays, programable controller, hand brake cut offs, head light set up, internal PAS (5/6/7/9 levels) and can be programed for high torque (wheelies) or smooth take offs via app. I've tried about 3-4 other set ups using Ebay, KT & EBW controllers w/HIGO connectors, etc. (for neatness) that just didn't work with stock motor, so mid-motor was the answer and it's great. I'm currently installing a 52-toothed chain ring to get a bit more mph out it, I estimate about 3-4 mph faster with this set up and it only cost $22 bucks + chain links.

22mph on 48v, you must up gear if your getting them low speeds or just stuck to the hub motor and got a 1000w hub to replace the 350w

Curious why you wouldn't just install a high current DC switch into the battery cable? Simple as wiring up an adaptor cable between the battery and controller through a switch mounted in an accessible location on the frame/cover/wherever, then there's no mucking around with plugging and unplugging. Make it a 2 pole switch, add an LED in series and the battery is completely isolated and you have a visual indicator that the battery is disconnected :)

When's the test ride video coming out? I did the same build, on a 2nd hand D1 dyu bike - exact same bike as in your video. Currently running it at 52V liyon battery @700Wh, a 10A controller 15A peak, and getting ~20-22mph out of it. Still running the stock motor which is out putting 500w continuous, 750w peak. @@HolmesHobbies I only weigh about 140 pounds, so that's why I get the 22 from :))) I bought a 1kw speed controller, and thinking to put it on a 60v or 72v battery and see what speed I'll hit. Only thing is I might burn the motor, since i use the stock one, and will have to make the battery to work with the 36v system the bike uses.

I really want to upgrade the speed controllers on my daughters and my electric scooters I know they are limited in speed and power but I don't know where to find a upgraded controller. I'm about to just put a castle xlx in it. Also if anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it. I'm 265lbs 6 foot and I have two swagger 5 upgraded motor scooters for me and my kid and I can't believe how well it hauls me around at 17mph but I know I can get more out of it so I can keep up with my kid. He man, you're the one who can help me out. Can you just disconnect the trothle and still use pedal assist. It's in my country illegal, i had a himo Z16 but you could disconnect the throttle and the screen and pedal assist would still work.....but only at 15KM a hour ....the pedal assist suck on this thing without throttle So my question Can you just unplug the throttle ? Since the battery indicator seem stuck to it? And so yes can you still go with pedal assist mode then in full speed? Ahha i see yours don't got a pedal 🤣

This is great! I have a challenge and I’d like to know what you think… I have a working e-bike with a very basic controller, everything works, however I am stuck with the out-of-the factory speed. This bike doesnt even allow me to reach 25Km/h considering my weight. All I wanted to do was to have a lil more speed, nothing crazy. So I bought a KT controller and display thinking that I could change the speed limit. The new controller is supposed to be better than the original, better mosfets etc.. However it doesn’t work. The display turns on the bike, I can even browse thru the parameters but it shows 0 battery charge, hence nothing works. I tried all sort of things, like swapping the hall sensor cables to see if there was some mismatch but still nothing. Clearly there is current from the controller cause I measured 3.68V at the Throttle cable when the controller was plugged to the motor and battery. Battery is 48V 15AH I dont think is the problem, the display turns on, it just doesnt comunicate with the motor (250W) My naive question: How can I proceed with modifying the new controller and make it “like” the original? I thought about making a new one from scratch but it might be too difficult for me, Besides I’d still have the display problem, I need one to turn on the bike, speed regulation, headlights etc.. I suspect it might be something “simple”, related only to the power circuit, perhaps once I get proper reading of the battery charge everything will work…. hopefully. Any thoughts is greatly appreciated.

Jetson Bolt or pro is aprox $300. Why spending more in battery than the cost of the bike (the worst recommendation). Better get a much better bike with better features.

At the time, LiMn and LiFe were popular chemistries and Luna was producing LiMn and a few variants. Pertinent info that it was Li Ion back then. Seems everything is just Li Ion these days, or at least labeled as such, eh?

I’ve made a savage DYU it’s got a 60v 2000watt motor I managed to find a 10ampH battery that fits (only just) but the controller doesn’t fit, I have a case for it but my issue is, The battery I got has and XT60 clip & a T-Plug, I don’t know which ones the charger out of the two and it’s driving me insane, I don’t know what to do
