I hope it gets people back in to 1.9 Comp crawlers. The WRCCA rules were also adjusted for the mini class so now wheel base and width can be 9'' if I remember well. It would be nice to have you build one!

Awesome Rig!!! I got your Crawlmaster Mini V2 and the 380 size 2000kv Revolver in there and yeah!! A tiny shave to get a 12t pinion, 13t goes right in.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks and it's a hoot. I already added brass shock spring keepers. Brass portal covers from Injora are soon expected as well as aluminum steering links and front overdrive gears from Horizon. A 40Kg servo is also waiting for me to get motivated to install. I think the motor is a 27 turn. I wish you had a gutsier 'brushed' motor for it because brushless requires ESCs that are too costly and complex to install for this old, retired SSI recipient.(I'm a strict plug-n-play guy when it comes to electronics)

Very much agree: a nice drop-in brushed motor replacement would be nice.

RC enthusiasts are funny we know just by looking at it if we’re getting it or not. Of course it has to perform but I knew I was going to get it. It’s kind of priced high but it’s not even in the same class as the other 1:18 it’s much bigger & will out crawl any of them stock. I already have metal beadlocks on it & are going to follow what others have already done & install a Holmes motor to it. It really changed the performance just with that. A Revolver is what was used.

I got one and I like it a lot. So far, so good. Apparently people are snapping the front axle so perhaps a weakness there. I've ordered some hop-up parts from Axial and Team Garage Hack. It's going to be fun.

We got two for Christmas, but couldn't wait and opened them. one for me and one for my son. I can't wait to get some of your motors and electronics in it. There very fun. But ready for some upgrades.

Ok I have one. I love it! I am upgrading nearly everything cause that's just what we do. I have already installed a Castle Mamba Micro X2 and a Revolver (not the V2) and I'm just not quite yet getting the slow crawl-ability that I want, and that noise...OMG that noise...is that normal? It sounds like the mythical Banshees having sex with a herd of donkeys. I'm sure it is user error, or at least I hope it is so I can figure out what I did wrong and fix it. Seriously though, the power from that motor is pretty awesome, and I'm loving everything else too. It's just a cool machine. My favorite thing about the size is that it is almost not too big for my 24th scale indoor course. It is too big, but almost not too big.

Glad you didn't call that a review because that hardly qualifies, lol 🤦‍♂️ I think Axial should have just called it a mini because it does fit the regulations for the mini class (they were changed this year - coincidence, I think not!) which going back to the Losi MRC were considered 1/18 scale. I do think its bigger than the scale stated but then I think the Traxxas is a bit smaller than the scale stated so.........? Most importantly, I am very excited to see if this causes a resurgence in the mini class, both with upgrades for the mini Capra and the use of the Capra parts (mainly axles) for other mini projects! One thing is for sure - these rigs (including the TRX-4m), are far more versatile than 1/24 rigs! 👍

Hi John. I got my UTB18 Capra about 2 weeks ago and I gotta say, I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I do. The only upgrade I did was stretch a set of 1.55 Pitbull Rock Beasts tires over a set of Treal 1.9 bead lock wheels and it definitely improved the performance. What Holmes motor and esc combo would you recommend for the UTB18? Looking forward to see what you do to your rig. Thanks for the great video as usual sir🤘🏻✌🏻

Unless I am gifted one I don't see any reason to have one, My 1/10 Capra is my focus and the UTB18 is not enough of a difference in scale for me to even be interested in it. I am glad people like them and have a choice, but it seemed an odd scale choice (maybe a 1/24 Capra wasn't sturdy enough 🤔), a 1/6 Capra would be intriguing but I also don't have the budget for a 1/6 build so I'll be happy at the 1/10 original scale.

I saw this one and my local hobby shop was out of stock for the axial so I picked up the Temper gen 2 that a 1/18th scale at about $150 Was wondering if it be worth spending the $ on getting a Holmes revolver motor sense there so small

late to the party but the temper gen 2 does really well with an esc upgrade. which of coarse means tx/rx upgrade to. hoping holmes has a quality 380 can motor when we burn up the stocker. love our temper its like a spider the way it gets around.

Buy a whole rig and throw it all away. I don't like buying RTR. But kits are getting scarce. I've been liking what I've seen on this one. How we doing on part 2 on the scx6? Just curious. Have fun., 🙂.
