Her response sums her up...She spends time talking about herself, and says, her family came to the Uk with nothing. Yet at the same time she says that her mother was recruited as a nurse..in Mauritius. This is not coming to the UK with nothing. It is also completely incomparable to someone literally comung with nothing...My conclusion is she is a narcissist and a liar....My best wishes go out to the lady that asked the question.

The European Research Group is a publicly funded think tank dedicated to UK Brexit and arguably the most powerful lobby in the Government. The reappointed Home Secretary was chair of the ERG. The language of exclusion and exceptionalism - invasion , swarms - is deliberately calculated to induce fear and hatred. Texas Governor Abbott talks continuously about the threat and invasion of migrants. The curiously warped and inverted racist attitude held by Home Secretaries Braverman and Patel is best put by Neil Basu , top Asian head of counter terror policing . “Are you alert to issues of racial and social justice “, as a definition of ‘woke’, used by the Home Secretary to criticise ‘tofu- eating lefties’. The French have offered space in Calais to set up an immigration processing centre to stop the need for people to travel to the UK in small boats, the UK government has declined this offer, presumably because this would show that most people asking for asylum have valid claims. By leaving only the dangerous sea crossing, the UK government is presumably hoping that many die en route. Meanwhile, they have reduced the number of home office people to process claims, particularly senior officers, causing thousands to be stuck in limbo, unable to be allowed to work or go to school. Never Ever vote for a #CONservative government Ever Again.

The answer to that is in her description of her father. He is Indian who left Kenya when it gained independence from the British empire. Why did he leave Kenya? Because he left India when it gained independence because he was most likely a collaborater to the Colonialists. He moved to Kenya as it was still a colony and no doubt he had a more privileged position in society there, below the white Colonialists of course but above the native Kenyans. When Kenya gained independence he fled probably fearing retribution. Thus it has been ingrained in Braverman that she is superior to others and especially Africans. Priti Patels parents have a similar background though it was Uganda and not Kenya her parents fled.

Well said it’s kinda sick that someone would severely twist something like that to play politics. One is mass genocide the other is trying to tackle a major problem of people having their lives put in danger by people trackers and slave traders, both at sea and on the hands of those same groups when they arrive in the U.K. that engage them in illegal activities in terrible conditions when they arrive. The problem of slavery is now greater in the U.K than at any time on its history. Trying to tackle that is nowhere near the same as rounding up people and throwing them in camps and murdering them on mass. Anybody that’s had to to work with victims of these traffickers and slave traders and what they’ve been put through in their hand will know full well that they have far more in common with the Nazis to say the least than those trying to stop them. They are literally campaigning for these slave traders and people traffickers. You’re not escaping war etc from France and you’ve got every opportunity to come to this country and many others, legally from the safe country they are in. Theirs no need to be pro people trafficking/ slave trade. I’d also say pro terrorist as an alarmist amount are people trafficked against their will by terrorists organisations and make a lot of money doing so.

I think the point she is trying to make is quite valid. The numbers don't lie, illegal migration to this country has increased exponentially and the public feel like people are abusing and exploiting the system. Once this happens, it turns the whole public's attitude towards migration, whether legal or illegal, negative. Uncontrolled migration leads to enclaves of society which form ghettos that do not need to assimilate and as a result, they breed intolerant values that are incompatible with the rest of British society. This needs to be addressed.

You do understand to seek asylum as a refugee within the UK you need to be physically in the UK, right? Maybe instead of cheering on her bigotted rhetoric you push for and support reform to a clearly broken system?

Do you think it's illegal for refugees to come to the UK in a small boat to claim asylum? If so then you have been brainwashed and should read the UN Convention on Refugees (1851) to which the UK is a signatory.

The speaker did not answer the question asked. The question was "why use the same dehumanising language as was use by the Nazis during the holocaust?" The speaker just ignored the actual question, then tried to equate thier own parents (totally different experience) with the holocaust survivors, and then continued on with the speech they had been giving. I do fervently hope that you don't agree with using dehumanising language, that was the go to language of the Nazis. Hopeful 🤞🙏🖖

If people keep immigrating to Britain at the current rates then it won't be too long before the quality of life in Britain descends to the point that no one from other countries would want to come and live here... or even holiday here for that matter. See Sweden for an example of a country that's already further down that road than we are.
@pranasimon9311

Our quality of life is wholly due to encouraging EU citizens to 'go back where they came from' by not permitting them permanent residence and UK rights since 2016. And over the last four years our QoL has only plummeted due to UK political and corporate greed. Isolationism does not work unless you are already an aristocrat.

@@pranasimon9311 Who said anything about isolationism. I'm talking about what is sustainable. Britain doesn't have enough space or resources to keep importing people at the rates that we currently are. It's like introducing a new species into an eco system. If the numbers are too large to integrate into the ecosystem the system collapses. THAT is what we are witnessing.

@@themincingninjapoofsawayli898 isolationism is the international relations term or name of the attitude countries take when they use the arguments you were just using to justify policies. The actions they take are to close their borders, expect to get preferential trade agreements on the international market (expect everyone to pay them better for their exported goods but expect better discounts on their imports) and usually start following nationalistic ideals and policies often associated with xenophobia. See USA and the great depression. The outcome of these types of policies always end up badly for the country itself, and the international world, sometimes leading to mass wars. Scholars often attribute the isolationist policies of 1930's America with the eventual start of WWII. Whilst Germany's pre war policies could also be labelled nationalistic because they were scapegoating refugees and immigrants (and anyone else different) as the reason for their economic problems and poor conditions, it was actually caused by the US withdrawing their rebuilding loan.

@@felicitygee381 Again, I never said anything about isolationism. I said "If people keep immigrating to Britain AT THE CURRENT RATES...". I am not in favour of isolating Britain, I'm in favour of sensible and sustainable levels of immigration. Isolationism is just a strawman you're constructing instead of dealing with the things I actually said.

I totally agree with Suella and I do not think an apology is in order....... Invasion is a perfect description of what is going on. Every illegal immigrant that sets foot on our beaches should be arrested on the spot and put in jail to await deportation!

Firstly, what are the *_legal routes_* to enter the UK for people from a African country such as Sudan or Chad involved in a civil war? Secondly, by Braverman making no apologies for the language used, you also think it is literally an invasion. Then how it is an invasion in the _literal_ sense *_when no army or force is used to enter and take control of the UK_* ? Explain please. Thanks.

They are not illegal, if they are genuine assylum seekers, it is international law, just as the lady who raised the question escaped by boat so can these refugees. The UK cannot arrest them nor send them back. However the UK has also closed all legal routes to claiming assylum in the UK except travelling by boat. It is the UK that is breaking international law, not the refugees on boats. The govt just does not want them, like a toddler throwing its own toys out of its pram.
