All these years later & this gentleman is still so excited & rejoicing of his liberation. It is still very fresh in his mine!! God bless him.

What a lovely man So engaging to listen to. In 1982 I had lunch with the child psychologist Bruno Bettelheim who had been in Dachau before the war. My father was in a special unit of the British army and was one of the first to arrive at Belsen when it was liberated. He saw Josef Kramer and Irma Grese arrested. Terrible times. My father's comrade was affected for decades after the war due to what he had seen. He was given the task of bulldozing the bodies into a pit at Belsen due to the fear of typhoid.
