I am a American, a low income single mother of 8 children. Though, I am up beat, positive, and I am always grateful.... I am now realizing, that non of my problems, compare, to the horror, that the Jewish people endured. God Bless them, the survivors and the ones who have passed!

One of the most beautiful, sweet Lady I ever met on this web site. I loved how she told Her story, meaning the voice, the smiles on Her horrendous past.

This is so inspiring. And what a great message at the end. “Each day is a new gift” God bless her, her family and the legacy she carried on. How lucky were the women to have a wedding dress made by her.

Ruth is the best at telling this horrible atrocity. I vividly saw her plight…and the interviewer let her talk and get the story picture to us…A vivid depiction which everyone should listen to. Thank you Ruth..💗💕

Ruth is a wonderful lovely lovely woman. She told her story so beautifully. And the interviewer whose name was Naomi let her tell the story. She did not interrupt. Naomi should have taught everyone how to interview. I would love to put my arms around Ruth. What a wonderful life she made out of the hell she experienced. I love the Jewish people. God loves the Jewish people and made them especially intelligent, strong, and blessed the world. Our best doctors lawyers and professional people to this day come from these wonderful Jewish minds. There is no other race of people who could have withstood the horrible circumstances! When given an opportunity even the young Jewish children used their strong minds and could out wit the Satanic forces of these horrible Hitler/Satan plans and circumstances. These stories should be required reading in all schools everywhere in the world! Thank you Ruth. And thank you Naomi.

The comments of the previous poster are pretty insulting. I've seen the same comment posted under the testimonies of other survivors as well. As a non-Jew, non-Christian, I don't understand how we can't as human beings come to a greater understanding and acceptance of all of our differences especially in light of the tragedy of WW2. Because of the actions of Hitler, we are still feeling the repercussions today; however, we now have the means, through these videos, to never forget.

Hope4all But....you never addressed the very pertinent and legitimate observations of the poster who you were criticising. You should remember that nobody is above criticism. These days unfortunately we have come to be taught to believe that some people are. The end result of that delusion is that people quite properly disengage altogether and take an interest in other matters where their own views are respected and people engage with them on a more intelligent level instead of coming out with obtuse and vague obfuscations about The War.

USC Shoah Foundation should have picked better interviewers. They act like robots and do not respond to what the person is saying. They interrogate and show no compassion. They have a list of questions which they often ask but not in the context of the conversation. I have heard much more skilled interviewers in other interviews, Yad Vashem for example. This lady is very articulate and tells her story without the help of the interviewer.

I'm sorry she feels that way about Christians and I'm sorry if Christians treated her in that way. it's so wrong when they use the crucifixtion as an excuse to mistreat the Jews. God loves us all and the Jews are still His chosen people. I would like to say that many priests and religious had put their lives in danger to protect many people and a few now canonized Saints were made during that time as well.

Lexi Noe - if you're going to reference Christian theology you also have to be aware that the Jews rejected Christ, and that rejection consignes them to damnation. That is the reality of Christian belief. Under the New Covenat, those who accept Christ are the true Chosen People.

She seems like a very caring woman but something struck me hard in the beginning of her testimony. She constantly refers to the other villagers as "real peasants", people who depended on the Jews for everything, how peasants didn't want education but how education was naturally in the Jewish blood and other things like that. I know she is from a different time and doesn't see it that way but it is heavy racism. People are entitled to their own beliefs but believing so firmly that you are racially superior to anyone is not a good moral compass to have. It would take an incredible human spirit for the "peasants" to put their family's lives on the line to save even one person who thought so little of you before they needed help, which she admits many of her "peasants" offered to do. That she believes the girls preferred to stay with their families doesn't diminish the heroism and sincere deep moral depth of the offer.

Actually, I don't think the word peasant was considered a derogatory word then. I think it meant the people who worked the land as in farmers. They did not need formal. education as they learned their "craft" of farming from family.

Saying that Jews value education is not racist. We see clearly in America that certain groups of immigrants place more value on education than others. There is nothing racist about this whatsoever. On the contrary, attacking a Holocaust survivor whose English is not her first language, and "catching her on a word" is totally inappropriate and disrespectful. And yes, Jews traditionally do place greater emphasis on education than peasants. This is a fact, and there is nothing "racist" about this.

She did actually describe how things were at that time and place. And the term peasant is accurate in the context.

Judaism is a religion of living. Preserving your life is holy. To sacrifice it for no good reason is forbidden. Fasting was unholy in such a place. The commandment is clear. You must eat to live! Hopefully, with age, you learned this commandment. Life is holy. You can not do anything to destroy it. You must live to do mitzvahs!
