The 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz was marked Monday in Poland at the site of the former death camp.
At least a million people, mostly Jews, were killed at the camp, which became a symbol of the holocaust.
Miriam Ziegler and Howard Chandler were among the 7,00 people liberated on Jan. 27, 1945. They returned Monday and shared their stories of survival with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
