Thank u soooo much!!! So far the best explanation i saw on yt! :) One quick question though, regarding the SHIFT button: So when u press it, it takes you to the gray writing adjustments part of the microcosm, then when you let it go you are back to the "normal" dark writing adjustments part, right? But the nob you were turning around stays on that gray part so it automatically changes your dark adjustments values? Or not? And how do you have any idea what values were assigned in that gray adjustments part if you can't see them? This double function of the nobs without a proper screen to show what is going on for me are just a mystery! So if there is any any any explanation please illuminate me 🙏

This is such a fantastic tutorial. Thank you very much. Just subscribed. I may have missed this, but is it possible to cycle through the layers/tracks of a loop and set different effects for each? It seems like maybe it's not? Maybe adding different effects distinctly to each layer/track is only possible at the time you record each layer/track of the loop?

I just don't get why the filter is pretty much left at 3/4: I can tell any source sounds muffled while running through the Microcosm and I don't quite get if that's the result of a pretty poor AD conversion in the pedal or a result of the filter itself.

I find when running a sequenced synth through the haze modes that it tends to just stop working after a bit. If I turn the volume on the synth down and then back up, it kicks in, but only for like 10 seconds, then it stops again. Am I misunderstanding how this works or is there a problem with my pedal. I only notice it on haze, which is the main effect I wanted the pedal for.
@alangreen71004 жыл бұрын
MrLosercore Did you ever get your haze lockup issue sorted out? I'm about to order a Microcosm for use with my synth/sequencer setup and just want to be aware of any potential bugs before shelling out $450+. Thanks for any additional insights that you can provide.
@MrLosercore4 жыл бұрын
@@alangreen7100 Apparently what I've heard is the pedal is triggered based off transients- so if it doesn't detect a large enough shift in volume it doesn't trigger as easily. I noticed if I put slower arpeggios through it the pedal would work fine, but faster sequences where the volume held more steady wouldn't. As of today, they have released a new firmware which supposedly improves this but I haven't tested it yet.
@alangreen71004 жыл бұрын
@@MrLosercore Thanks very much for the additional info - hopefully the engineers at Hologram will address any issues like the one that you have encountered. It certainly doesn't sound like a dealbreaker, so I am really looking forward to seeing what this thing can do when paired with a semi-modular setup.
@georgesimpson14064 жыл бұрын
@@MrLosercore ive had this with guitar. Even tried input volume in global parameters. Even worse with any drive before, seems better with low input but can hardly play with zero dynamics can I? There is supposed to be firmware to improve it- not tried yet!

Any tracking issues? I got one today and love the sounds, but is it usually tracking oddly? Sometimes no sound is even made on a chord. Plus sometimes the tempo doesnt immediately change on knob. Hmmm. I am going to try the firmware update.
@vvlvmusic4 жыл бұрын
So did the firmware update improve things for you?
@georgesimpson14064 жыл бұрын
@@vvlvmusic yes, it resolved most the issue. It has no sensitivity or threshold knob, and i was using loud fuzz. But whatever is done is resolved. Its easy to forget its a triggered pedal though as it can seem like a weird delay, but rather is best thought of as a modular synth effect. I CAN still break its trigger with ridiculous reverb drones into it, but not most effects anymore. +It now has double volume (where it was before is now 50% on the knob by default) It can take some learning. E.g. i thought it had a long predelay but forgot it was set in reverse, where youd expect the note to swell in. Or realising to not let chirds ring out too much or it will stick on one chord sometimes. The pedal however can create the ringing needed, so you dont need to sonically its just at first counterintuitive. I havent used any trigger pedal in many years! Not sure abt tempo knob, i can tap to change and sometimes not on that whilst its triggering, and sometimes i t xhanges but light wont. Not too bad.
