This is exactly why metal and orchestral music are very alike. They share one very important element: INTENSITY. Metal and orchestral music are meant to be grand, exciting, and intense!

Got a few other projects to finish before I can fully commit to it, but I tried toying around with some ideas the other day and I believe its going to be freaking epic. If I can get it anywhere close to this video's level of awesomeness, I think I'll be able to die fairly fulfilled.

The complexity of Tool's arrangements translates into something extraordinary in this format. It certainly could handle the big halls and introduced into a crowd with no understanding of what they are listening to.

If Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, the greats ,if they were alive now ,they would play music of this caliber, and I would say that Tool are our greats. This is probably the most beautiful and powerful piece of music I've ever heard. Thank you for the Vibrations Tool and the folks composing this piece,

Nick.....I just listened to this arrangment for the 2nd time. The 1st time was 3 years ago and I enjoyed it. The 2nd time was 5 minutes ago. Now my life has gone off the tracks, crashed, started up again only to come off again...now I am trying to figure if its worth it or not to get back on the tracks again.....After hearing this god sent musical production to me a 2nd time...I feel a small amount of love and hope to get back up. To that special piano player: thank you for taking what Tool has made and adding your own feelings to it. I heard with my heart during the middle section before the powerful ending. Mr. Piano player I used to lay down under our piano as a young boy, a young boy with ADHD and Chronic depression and listen to my mother play the piano...Looking back I know she did that just for me, to help soothe me and calm me and tell me she loved me. Listening to you play, brought me back to that moment 32 years later! Thank you for that....thanks for daring to be creative and put in your own ingredients to a already masterful recipe..you made it better. To that blonde playing the flute..thank you, it was short and sweet but made such a impression on me. To everyone in this production....THANK YOU. I know the peices fit.

Epic. Great performance guys! My only gripe is with the "between supposed lovers" part. The change in syllable stress in this arrangement dropped all the impact at the end of the line. Other than that I loved everything (especially the high reverb piano in the bridge and the epic build up in the outro!). I didn't mind the more simplified percussion even as a drummer, because frankly the type of percussion Danny uses in the song would sound extremely busy in an orchestral arrangement. He normally has a lot of space to fill, and there's not a huge call for it here.

That's true. Maynard has always been kind of a, pardon the pun, tool when it comes to being open minded about stuff like this. He loves to hear stuff like this because it shows just how much of an impact their music has had on so many people.
