Oga: oga is forever eating pumpkin Me: well close enough but not quite Miyabi: Oga spent a long night with pumpkins Me: YABE Edit: Also i'm quite suprised with that not just stars but probably among japanese doesn't know the word of explain. I can see that their sentence structures in english are pretty good but they just lack in terms of vocab. If they got more exposed to vocab then i'm sure they'll able to speak more fluent in english 👍👍👍👍
@yellow89803 жыл бұрын
Right? The structure and even the grammar they are usually good enough, just need vocabulary
@Colopty3 жыл бұрын
The biggest grammar related issue was that one question about using "the" or "a", though in that case the japanese they translated from was ambiguous, so both options were technically valid translations. However, for that particular sentence you'd probably expect it to use "a" the majority of the time, making it the most natural sounding translation.

Miyabi san ABC song is something i can't get over it lol.. So cute~He so confidence about it.. Can't we just rearranged the alphabet back lol.. Even the way he said 'pumpkin' is sound so exited(?) Energetic (?).. Cute!!.. Well can't blame him for it! Oga and miyabi is the weakest when it's come to English itself (in my opinion) but that also one of their charm..

So the last one basically is to explain the meaning of the word "explain"

i think it’s interesting that miyabi says “Z” in the British pronunciation
@ogredwing3 жыл бұрын
I noticed that too. I think it's easier for Japanese people to pronounce Zed rather than Zee, and it's pronounced like that in most English-speaking countries other than the US, so they might have more exposure to Zed.

iirc English textbooks in Japan typically teach British English and not American English

I think it's because that is how it is taught in Japan but not anywhere else. I also didn't learn that; I just learn from experience with texts to supplement.

English is the only language I understand... When Roberu asked that question, it felt like I was having an existential crisis. Maybe... maybe I don't actually understand English at all?????

i feel like this is something non-english speaking countries use as a foundation when learning english, but ive never even come across this before

It's normal. I mean, English speakers also learn Japanese not in the way it's taught in Japan.

We do in country where English is teach in school as second language
@Colopty3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the country I guess. I don't think I was ever taught anything about 5 types specifically, but sentence structure was a topic in elementary school at least. Granted, at this point it's just intuitive so I wouldn't actually be able to answer that question even if I had been taught it at some point.
