Absolutely agree with you on the 407k's 6 MOA dot being about the perfect size for a self-defense pistol. This is the optic I have on my Sig Sauer P365X

I’ve ran both on my P365X, and ended up favoring the 507, as it proved to be faster target accusation (with the 32 moa in conjunction with the 2 moa center dot) for me. Both are great optics, I guess it comes down to personal preference and what works best on for you.

Scott Amy, the 407k is a great choice. I decided to keep the 507k because the 32 moa was even faster target acquisition like Drone Zone previously stated. As well as having the ability to use just the dot or circle etc.

I have a Romeo 1Pro on two of my pistols, one with a 2MOA and the other with the 6MOA. I prefer the 6MOA by far for a pistol. On my home defense 300BLK I have a 2MOA circle dot and that is by far my favorite sight. Much faster acquisition with the only downside being if you need to take a long range shot it can muddy things up unless you train a lot with it and get used to ignoring the circle.

when you were doing this test, did you move your camera or your stool? ive watched multiple times but just can't tell, which is weird. haha Another question is Why is a parallax shift annoying when you are trying to aim your red dot at the target?

I was moving the camera with a dji mount, it keeps the camera focused on what I'm looking at regardless of where my hand is. The parallax is great, nothing annoying at all. Chinese projection optics like Holosun catch flack, but I personally love them.

A good red dot optic will be "Parallax free", meaning whether you're looking directly down the optic or not, whatever the reticle is aimed at is where the bullet will go. Optics that have parallax you have to look directly through the optic, otherwise your point of impact will be off.

A better way to test parallax is to shoot them with a different viewing angle and some paper. You can see if there is a POI shift on paper if the groups are off. You shoot a control group with your best sight picture. Then shoot again with sub-optimal sight picture.

I use a 2moa dot HS407C-X2. The 2MOA is incredibly easy to find and track.

@@matmon4953 I don't have a 407C but I have a 509T and I primarily use the 2moa dot. In the South East on a very bright clear summer day at medium setting I can see the dot most of the time. With the brightness at near max I can see the dot with ease. A few reviewers in Arizona have stated you have to use the dot at full brightness to see the dot in the desert. Needless to say the dot can get very bright and it's easy to pick up in most situations.

You can go bigger with your glock 19, the 407k and 507k are micro dots and might be a tad to small for a larger framed 19. 507c might be a better option 🤔

507k x2 on my shield and love it. Puting another 507k on P365x, replacing Romeo Zero. Old fart who needs best zone targeting in darkness and if awakened. No time to find my glasses, etc. Need immediate aim if that God forbidden challenge ever happens. Primarily home defense. Holosun reliable too

I was under the impression that the 507K and the 407K were for sub compact, thin pistols. Someone on here mentioned the 507c ACSS, i’m not sure if that will fit my CANIK compact pistol? Or do I have to go with the 507K?

It's all personal preference really, 407c has a solar fail safe which is a bonus. As for dot size, I can't recommend the 6 moa enough for fast target acquisition. But it all comes down to what your accustomed to using. I personally use the 507k daily because I'm able to aquire that 32 moa stupid fast.

IMHO- 407k- I hate the big 6moa dot. Get the 507k, run the circle & dot until you get used to running a dot, then change it to the 2moa dot only. Like training wheels.
