I wish this video was up 6 months ago, definetly would have saved me 2 sets of foam. Thanks Steve, very helpful!

More Heat, More pressure, = Better definition....jk ofcourse, (though theres a little truth to that). Good explanation. Hopefully it clarifies things for those questioning. Why don't you guys carry a 1/4" neoprene. foam to use on a swiftpress or membraneless formers. I think it would be a great addition to your already huge inventory of supplies.

Can you explain why the thickness is important? When would I want a thicker piece of foam and what would dictatate using a thinner foam? Thanks..

Hi Anwat. The thicker the item is, the thicker the foam needs to be. For example, if a handgun is 1.5 inches thick at it's widest point, the foam on both sides of the press should be at least 1 inch thick (2 inches total) to allow them to completely wrap around the gun's contours on both sides when being pressed. This allows them to push the heated thermoform plastic into the various recesses to fully cover (form around) the item. Let us know if you need more help!

Just got some xtreme foam and can’t wait to use it. An issue I had with the mega was that custom print kydex stained the mega with the design in the holster. Pretty soon after a bunch the foam was covered in all the designs. Also, I know Mega performed way better when it was preheated. Is preheating required with xtreme?

Hi Zack. A slight ghost image can be seen after pressing with mega foam, however it won't transfer to new pressings. We use it in our shop every day. Actually, a ghost will form on all of the foams, but it's most noticeable on the mega variant. Xtreme shouldn't need any pre-heating at all. In fact, if you're running batches of pressings, let it cool a bit between each one to make sure that the foam maintains its natural reflex. Each one is a little different to work with, but you'll get them down with no trouble at all. Thank you for your business, and please let us know if you need any help at all! 🙂 Alex
