Holtzman Gorilla Survival Neck Knife- Test

I will have to say you are getting for sure hands down a better knife than your paying for.
I am very surprised at the way this little beauty cuts batons and srats a fire.
Others have stated from what i have read its hard to sharpen and not a good knife.
Well they got this mixed up with another. No problems here whats so ever.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a awesome little beater gift or anyone not wanting to spend a arm and a leg.

I just ordered this. If it sucks I can return it but for $30 who really cares. It got really good reviews though so I don't think there will be any issues. It's not big enough to do any major hard core use either. And any knife can be sharpened, you just have to know how. Thanks for the video!

@@JBOutdoorsAndMore will do! Problem is I got it into the sheath and now it won't come out lol. I'll have to heat the kydex to loosen it. But first impressions are pretty good. It came shaving sharp, it strikes the ferro rod very well, although that's the tiniest ferro rod I have ever seen haha.

Better than most review videos. None of this (well I would change the grind angle, and this weighs .0000001 ounces too much, and this color is half a degree off, and the steel sucks, but it's forgivable bullshit.

I think the sheath has a striker for the ferro rod. Correct me if I am wrong... I just got mine from a battle box and I think it will be a good little knife to use in the outdoors.

Sorry for the late response and thank you for stopping by I’m not sure their is a striker on the sheath just a so so sharpening stone that I suppose could be utilized in a pinch I use the spine of the knife

I love mine Red Line I've owned it for around 2 years now I think👍. I'm not sure why it's called a Red Line because the liners are orange G-10🤔🤷. I made a dangler out of 2 1/4 inch wide black ballistic nylon strapping and fastened two snap buttons side by side to form a 1.75 inch belt loop. I used two Chicago bolts to fasten the dangler strap to the kydex sheath using the existing holes. The dangler turned out very clean and looks completely professional /store bought. I purposely went with a particular dangler length so the kydex sheath would be completely inside my front right pocket if I choose to do so, with only the handle sticking up out of my pocket hidden by my shirt. The black ballistic nylon strapping was previously harvested form something put out the trash at some point. The kwikset snap button kit was like $8 at Walmart in the sewing section. And the two Chicago bolts were like $1.25 from the hardware store. Doing this project made me realize how awesome a quick set snap button kit is👍. Everything that I owned that had velcro closures jackets, shirts, bags, EDC pouches now have nickel snap buttons instead😂🤷. Thanks for the video, this knife really flies under the radar in the knife community. Pro tip, check out the made in Ukraine "BPS Knives B1" fixed blade, it's made out of 1066 carbon steel it looks just like the Condor Knives and tools Bushlore. It has a crazy sharp true 0 degree scandi grind (no microbevel), a top notch heat treatment, a heavy duty handmade leather sheath and a price that's ridiculously cheap. Amazon did recently increase the price by $10 but it's still way worth it👍. If you decide to get one, make sure you don't get the stainless steel version, it's a pretty low quality stainless steel. Also even though it's 1066 carbon steel it has better edge retention than my 1095 knives. Don't ask me how they do it, no clue 🤷 I think they have a wizard/warlock doing their heat treatments for them 😆. Oh yeah if you think Mora's come sharp wait until you slice paper with this thing you can hear how sharp it is. I can't wait to buy the full flat grind BPS Savage next👍✌️.

Have you tried a similar Holtzman neck knife w/paracord wrapped handle? I'm leaning that way to reduce the profile but have never used a paracord wrapped handle...wondering if it's worth having the handle in this video for actually performing camp tasks rather than just self defense?
