In a wet condition you dont need split wood to start a fire. I always just walk around and find very small tree limbs that have fallen and got stuck in other tree limbs, so they have been off the ground for a while. Works great.

Iridium does what he can for a dude that lives on a gravel lot. Lol and I mean that as a compliment! You still get the job done! Thanks for the video man, I always enjoy them. Can you do an update to the 160$ night vision if they decide to proceed with production? Still need to find Sasquatch and catch my neighbors stealing my gas.

Yeah I'm 54 and am pretty good with any kind of stone or steel but I sure remember learning to sharpen one. Then again I'm still seeming to learn little things that help. I'd go crazy if I had to use one of the guided setups. Don't have the patience

Here might be the reason why it did not feather the wood real well, The grind is a Compound Bevel grind. The Compound Bevel grind is great for holding an edge BUT not so great for feathering wood. My PKS Grizzly and my Pathfinder 1 Knife (PLSK1) both have Scandi grinds and work great for feathering wood. With that stated, I think this knife, the Holtzman's Gorilla Survival Knife - The D2 Silverback will fit my small EDC bag and I am ordering one as soon as I get my tax return.
