Tim, thanks for this initial review. A couple of observations- I think the reason why the other truck manufacturers don't have rear step bumpers is because it might be perceived as copying GM's design. Sad that ego gets in the way of practicality. ALL trucks should have that type of bumper instead of the "man step" or whatever Ford calls it...(I think GMC has a goofy version of that, too) Secondly, as an owner of a 2019 RST, I am glad to see that GMC has relocated the start / stop button. Where it is located in my truck is awkward. Small potatoes, I know...but it shows that GMC (and GM in general) is thinking about the details that can potentially make a good truck a great truck. Also...that Denali Ultimate really lives up to its name...but how many "Ultimate" badges do you need on the darn thing? I think the style/ materials/ fit/finish will sell you on it. Do you really need to be reminded of what it is?

All trucks come with their own unique problems. I really wish one (preferably more) of the truck/suv journalists would press all the manufacturers to deal with all their reliability issues with on-going communications and updates on their resolution. What is the current situation with the Duramax long crank issue? Manufacturers lack of transparency on these issues can in part be traced to the lack of pressure by all journalists (KZbin and traditional print magazines). I get tired or reading forums to try get a sense of the scale of a particular issue and which issues have been resolved and how. For me, real value add from the guys/gals who produce these videos (Tim, TFL, Truck King, …) would be addressing/updates on these types issues on a regular basis. Otherwise they’re all pretty much the same.

How many of the "safety tech" items can one permanently shut off? Vibrating seat, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and the beeps of the distance sensors. Which ones can be turned off so that they are not re-enabled when you start the vehicle again?

Not sure if you can disable them all without using an aftermarket OBD2 scanner.

@@Pickuptrucktalk Likely not. I just wanted to see if they'd made previously able to disable assistants on by default. It's getting to where one needs to hire a hacker after purchase to program the computer they way they customer prefers it.

Will there ever be a regular cab 8' long bed in these variants? And why not!

Nope. CAFE and consumer demand killing that option.

@@Pickuptrucktalk it’s quite shameful for GM to only offer the super cruise on the Denalies.

@@falconwaver Oh it will trickle down eventually to lower trims.

@@Pickuptrucktalk GM have a habit of doing this, where Ford offers the full copilot 360 from Lariat and even the XLT.
