Dreamcatcher are one of the most unique groups out there. Their discography is impeccable imo and they manage to mix genres in their songs so well. They usually always have a rock/metal element in their songs mixed with some heavier type of edm. Also their vocals are always flawless but you already noticed 😌

I'm not surprised you watched this one twice tbh. I've listened to this song dozens of times and Siyeon always gives me chills with her amazing vocal power. They're actually third gen technically, but late third gen since they debuted in 2017 (they just have their 5th anniversary actually). Dreamcatcher doesn't have a bad song, and their discography is the most diverse I've seen from a KPOP group. They're the most underrated group out there and all of the members are totally amazing people. Dreamcatcher Mind (their show) is a fun watch so I definitely recommend. I think Boca is one of DC’s best. It’s just an absolute masterpiece! Siyeon’s vocals at the end had me ASCENDING. Dami’s and Gahyeon’s raps go hard. Yoohyeon’s pre-chorus vocals and ad libbing in the last chorus is insane, and Sua and Jiu sound like angels.I also really love the choreo in this one. I can’t believe they didn’t get a win for this, because it was just perfection.

Definitely underrated, they're literally the best. They don't have a single bad song (in my opinion). Someone may have answered this already, but the Chinese member Handong is indeed still missing in BOCA, but they didn't use a stand-in with a mask this time. She is back in Odd Eye, the third part of the trilogy, though!

The Scream choreo was made for all 7 of them because they thought Handong would be back in time to take part. With Boca they knew she wasn't coming back so the choreo was made for 6. Once Handong made it back they modified the choreo to fit her in and gave her some of the other member's lines to sing as they did with Scream when all 7 performed those songs for their livestream concerts last year.

the dystopia trilogy is actually rock light compared to their other title tracks. because the theme is about the 'dystopian' ills of the internet and social media, the songs are a lot more electronic influenced. the nightmare series which starts with 'chase me' is a lot more rock and classical influenced. if you want something slightly more heavy, try 'endless night'.

Masked member in Scream was to represent Handong. They didn’t put a masked member in Boca. Handong came back in Odd Eye. Since her comeback, they modified all of their songs that were missing Handong in terms of changing the choreography a little bit from 6 member form back to 7 member form, and changing the sing parts a little bit so Handong gets some singing in those songs she missed. It was really cool for them to do so. The OT7 modifications can be seen in their recent live performances.

There is no masked member in Boca; they arranged it for six from the get-go, with plans to rearrange it for seven when Handong came back, which they did. Handong went to China in October '19 (annoyingly, about a week before I met the rest of the girls in London 😜) originally to participate in a competition series called Youth With You, and was due to return around May, but "the fun times" hit while they were filming. Also her visa ran out in the interim, and the fact that she's from Hubei Province, and specifically Wuhan, added extra red tape to renewing it. She finally flew back to Korea at the tail end of September, and rejoined the girls mid-October. Remember the girl who got hit by the arrow (Yoohyeon)? Look again at who _fired_ it. Yup, that was _also_ Yoohyeon... around the same time as SuA's singing "too many angels dying now", referring (at least partially) to the spate of idols and celebrities who took their own lives, particularly around that time. There's a bit of chat below about pronouncing the girls' names, so I'm gonna throw in my traditional recommendation to do yourself a favour and learn to read Hangeul, the Korean alphabet. If you're gonna have any decent amount of interaction with Korean culture, even if you're not interested in learning the actual _language_, it's well worth taking a couple of hours out to familiarise yourself with their alphabet, which is pretty straightforward (it was designed to be easy for even illiterate people to learn), and basically phonetic. So after a couple-few hours, you'll be able to sound basically anything in Korean (even if you don't understand it)... _including people's names,_ so you don't have to worry about figuring out pronunciations based on the _minefield_ that is romanisation; Korean doesn't use a lot of the same sounds as we do, so our own alphabet can't do it justice. Also, they use a lot of English loan words, so if you're looking at a Korean video title, for instance, you'd be surprised how much you'll pick up, realising it's actually just English words written in Hangeul. 😜

The girl who did the “thunder” part that you liked is one of the lead vocals, Yoohyeon! And yes, the girl belting at the end with the blue and black hair was Siyeon! Her power and control are absolutely insane. You already know who Dami is of course, but as for the rest of the members: Gahyeon is the rapper with the pink hair, JiU is the one with the black hair who comes in after Dami (she’s also the one who was in the yellow dress), and Sua is the one in the white dress who does all the water scenes. If you like the electric guitar in this you’re going to LOVE Odd Eye. They do something really cool with the guitar that I adore, and the sound of the whole song is such a perfect mix of Scream and Boca that you really can’t imagine blending until you hear it. And the thing is, ALL of their music is this quality. They’re literally all hits no misses. They tackle so many different genres in their b-sides and manage to do every single one to perfection. And their *covers*…literally once they cover a song, it’s their song. So glad you’re interested in exploring more because they literally have SO much content out there! 60+ original songs and a lot of special clips to go with the b-sides and covers! To get to know their chaotic and wonderful personalities, I definitely recommend checking out their reality show Dreamcatcher Mind, their self-made MVs for Sahara, Break the Wall, and Poison Love, as well as the fan channel insomnicsy who does a lot of clip compilations. They have a series called “This Is__” to get to know each member too!

Also, the missing member (Handong) is NOT replaced by a dancer in this MV, however they worked her in for later live performances, as they did for other songs from 2020. She reappears in the Odd Eye MV.

Glad to see you love this one so much! Some reactors don't like BOCA as much because the verse and chorus can feel very different and it throws them off, but I love it so much. The final one in the Dystopia trilogy is 'Odd Eye' After that, you can go in many different directions. The next two suggestions aren't a part of a storyline of MVs. Their most recent release is 'BEcause' and it is a banger. 'Deja Vu' is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Or you could go a different route and go through their NIGHTMARE series which is 7 MVs worth of story starting with their debut 'Chase Me' (You can also start with their song 'Fly High' as it is a prequel to Chase Me). I won't pretend to understand the story fully but the music is great! Thanks for the reaction!

Boca is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?

So many moments in this one. It's like a jigsaw puzzle of a song but everything just slots together perfectly and satisfyingly and goosebumps are the correct response. "no matter if it's first 2 seconds if the song has electric guitar I know it'll be a bop" YO MATE WE HAVE THE SAME TASTE! but yeah as everyone said, these whole Dystopia era have less power of guitar. if you really like electric guitar, GOOD NIGHT will be the best way to enjoy. the only part without the guitar are first few seconds of intro and first few seconds of third chorus (YES I MEAN EVEN IN THE BRIDGE THEY STILL USE GUITAR). - but for show-off type of guitar, Endless Night and No More are really insane. both are their Japanese releases. even though guitars in both songs are going crazy, in Endless Night the drum gave more attention. and both are the closest to metal genre imo, especially Endless Night with those DP in outro

HOLD UP! I'm a geek the big paradox! Dami's iconic part. 😍 This masterpiece is my least favorite title track of DC which just shows how immaculate their discography is. It's always such a satisfying feeling to see people fall deeper and deeper into this work of art the DC girls, their producers Leez and Ollounder and their company are doing. We are blessed to have them, they're so refreshing in this continuous stream of cute and girl crush concepts. And luckily more groups are trying this kind of stuff finally and aren't scared of it anymore (pixy, Pink Fantasy, Purple Kiss even did it in a predebut song, even Dreamnote who had cuter stuff before did it with Ghost), women are powerful and can kill hard sounds and dances too, finally we can see that more often thanks to DC! My forever #1 group in kpop! 😍 And 13:31 is Jiu (Kim Minji) and also my forever #1 ult in kpop! 😍

Hell yeah! Glad you are liking them! Boca is dope. Sorry for the masked member confusion. They created the choreo for this song without her. The made changes to include her when she got back with the rest of the group. Dreamcatcher is a 3rd Gen group. Dreamcatcher debuted in 2017. However, 5 of the 7 members actually debuted under a different name in 2014 and re-debuted in 2017. Don't want to spoil ALL of the history for you, but having to re-debut was not a fun time for them. Point being, they are technically very 3rd Gen. lol In regards to the arrow being fired, the member that shot the arrow is also the member that got hit by the arrow. So, please someone correct me if I'm wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure that was symbolic of her committing suicide. Hence, the "too many angels dying now" line immediately afterwards. Like, real talk, this trilogy is some deep shit. Also, I had no clue what in the hell was going on first watch. I had to re-watch a bunch and read things to get it all. lol Random thing that I always love about their choreo that I personally haven't noticed a lot of groups do. Whenever Siyeon or any of the other members hit power vocals or complicated runs, they make sure that the choreo gives that person a moment to hit that fat note and then hop back into the choreo. Idk. I just like that a lot. I could be talking out of my ass about the other groups thing. Regardless. Suggestions: - "Odd Eye" - finish up the Dystopia trilogy - "BEcause" - their latest title track - "Chase Me" - their debut (super anime intro sound) - "Deja Vu" - Ballad with a powerful chorus - Collaboration with a mobile game. Also, yeah, they still don't get the numbers they deserve. A lot of their support is actually international. They've being growing in popularity in Korea since around Scream though. They do indeed have a reality show called "Dreamcatcher Mind". 10 episodes. It's lots of fun. In video first scene the frame by sticks is symbolize to mouth as chinese character. Chinese character 口 is meaning mouth. From ancient of Korea, korean using chinese character for doucmetation. And The Great King Sejong invent Hangul for ordinary korean at year 1443. Now korea doesn't using chines character in daily life, but quite a few Koreans still know basic Chinese characters. Besides, Korea and China pronounce the same Chinese character differently.

14:34 it's pure moombahton. as someone who loves moombahton, this second verse/rap section did it SO WELL. coupled with the first verse that uses reggaeton elements, both these sounds tie in well with their Spanish use of the word Boca.

Welcome to the dreamworld~ Boca is one of my favorite tracks (What is another - everyone can fite me, but What is superior and I will die smugly on that hill.) so I feel you on taking 20 minutes to watch the MV twice. Boca is also their most popular MV. Odd Eye took me a few listens to really like it - it's definitely a banger, but some tracks take me a while to warm up to. Just personal tastes and all that lol
