I noticed many covers where they say "why is THIS bedroom so cold" yet in the original it goes "why is THE bedroom so cold" Seems like a minor change, but whenever I hear "this", it sounds so accusatory, like he is asking her directly, as if it is her fault... Whereas, in the original, the question sounds much more rhetorical and reflective.

Walter5850 it really doesn’t matter. The song is somewhat accusatory in the first place, so I find the minor change to fit well.

D L I guess Ian Curtis has chosen the words with caution, lyrics are poems somehow, changing a word makes a big difference. Maybe I biased, cause I'm French, and here we are using so many different words to say the same things, but I really think words, even small ones, matters, and even more when it's Art. After, it's only my point of view.

i'm actually so freaking happy with this cover, they were able to honor the original while still getting their own unique feel across. Couldn't say the same thing for Allday's cover of Never Tear Us Apart...

I love this Joy Division song and I have heard many, mostly terrible covers....this was GREAT! I actually felt emotional listening to this version, the same way I feel when listening to Joy a Division. I think the reason most covers fail is that the singers are trying to hard to sound like Ian from Joy Division, this singer uses his own voice.

I First heard this song on WLIR in '81. I have heard many covers over the years, you all managed to pay homage to the Joy Division and make it your own . you nailed it. Bravo, and well done.

Great job, it's a very difficult song to cover- I heard the original shortly after it's commercial release, and have heard many covers over the years, most of them crap For me, this is a haunting, deeply evocative song. Every time I hear it, it brings me back to that period in my life, and a lover who died Sadly, love did tear us apart..Thank you for a beautiful homage- to the this song, and the Joy Division.

As every great cover should do... it just highlights what an unbelievably important, beautiful, transcendent song the original is. It'll never quite capture the sadness but thats ok, i don't think any reasonable human should be able to do what Ian Curtis did. Great job

This is a song that is impossible to cover and these guys did an admiral job, but I think the sound, vibe, and the sort of emotion in Curtis' voice in the original can't be replicated.
