Usually drums are the last thing I want to hear in a hymn. This one is different. These drums give the song a mysterious raw militaristic and gritty depth mixed with eternal glory. It makes you want to march in line and jump and shout and somehow prostrate yourself all at the same time.

The Bible says here that man was created in the image and likeness of God: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." - Genesis 1:26-27 So this means that God has a body, soul, and spirit because man has the same, and man is made in the image and likeness of God. And before you say "See! There's the Trinity right there in the verse! It says "Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness!" Let me ask you this; who is the image of God? The Bible gives the answer: "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:" - Colossians 1:12-15 KJV Jesus Christ is "the image of the invisible God" according to Scripture. Also, here is further proof that Jesus Christ IS God the Father: "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." - John 1:18 KJV So we see here that "No man hath seen God at any time", obviously this verse is talking about God the Father, but look at what this verse says about Jesus Christ: "That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen." - 1 Timothy 6:14-16 KJV This verse is talking about Jesus Christ and it says concerning him: "dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see", but again, John 1:18 says concerning God the Father: "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." So the Bible says concerning both God the Father AND Jesus Christ that no man has seen them. If you believe in the Trinity then these 2 verses contradict each other because people saw Jesus Christ with their own 2 eyes. So, along with John 14:7-10 and John 12:44-45, there is only one explanation; Jesus Christ IS God the Father, and God the Father IS Jesus Christ. Again, the Godhead is Body, Soul, and Spirit, 3 parts to 1 being. The Biblical Godhead is the only one that actually makes sense. Here is another verse that is a stumbling block to Trinitarians: "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." - Philippians 2:9-11 EVERY knee should bow, of things in HEAVEN? EVERY tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord? So if God is three separate persons, are you telling me that God the Father is going to bow down to Jesus Christ and confess with his tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord? Bit of a problem there because the Trinity teaches that all 3 persons are EQUAL, but if one person is bowing down to the other person, that means that the person that is bowing down is lower than the person he is bowing down to and vice versa.

This is a longstanding favourite of mine. I grew up hearing it in church, and in my early teens (circa 14) I bought a 4 CD set because two of the discs were Handel's Messiah, but buying that on its own was a couple of dollars more. The other two discs were "Hymns Triumphant" and were classic hymns done with full, orchestra and choir, and when I actually listened to them, were equally as good as the Messiah, at least. This was one of the familiar hymns I knew well, and much to Mum's bemusement, I would sing the alto track to, instead of soprano (my usual singing register).
