The first joyful mystery is the Annunciation. We pray for the grace of humility.
The seconded mystery, the visitation. We pray for Love of Neighbor
The third mystery, the Nativity. We pray for poverty of Spirit and detachment from the things of the world.
The fourth mystery, the Presentation. We pray the Rosary for obedience,
The fifth mystery, is the finding of Jesus in the temple. We recite the Rosary for the fruit of piety.

I think the reason why we don't hear the sign of the Cross is bc it's cut out from the original where they're praying the whole, entire Rosary.
