I'm seeing quite a bit of confusion regarding the frequencies used by the cell phone/drone camera and the transmitter/controller with respect to the receiver in the drone. The transmitter/controller in your hand sends a 2.4 gigahertz signal to the drone and vice versa. That signal is the one that enables you to use the controller only without the use of the Ophelia Go app to fly your drone. The 2.4 gigahertz signal is necessary because it works at a far greater distance than the 5 gigahertz frequency, which is the frequency used to transmit the VIDEO/CAMERA signal back from the drone to the Ophelia Go APP on your phone. This allows you to see the camera images in real time. The 5 gigahertz WI-FI signal has NOTHING to do with your carrier's 5G cell signal. When you turn on your drone its 5 gigahertz WI-FI signal is transmitted from the drone to be paired with the 5 gigahertz WI-FI receiver built into your phone, which is used by the Ophelia Go app after the phone is paired with the drone WI-FI signal. Wanna know why so many drones are lost by fly aways that use the 2.4 gigahertz controller FREQUENCY? That frequency band has been in use for many years now, long before consumer drones were ever available. It's because there are MILLIONS of cordless phones and other devices that (still) use the 2.4 gigahertz frequency. If you fly your drone in city/urban areas where spurious 2.4 gigahertz signals abound, BE VERY AWARE that control of your drone can be lost instantly if there are "collisions" of the 2.4 GHz frequencies. For what it's worth. Happy droning!

Mine went out of control when I hit the button. I had 10 gps. it did a wide circle and then took off and crashed 150 feet away. It was somewhat damaged but still works. I think it might have been an issue with the battery having reached a low level.
@OtisBGR Жыл бұрын
Yes, that is a good possibility. Many electronics react badly to low battery levels, especially when they get critically low. If the battery drain gets interrupted for even a moment, it can wreak havoc on the motors, navigation, and so on which could definitely lead to erratic behavior. I always have a second battery on hand ready to swap out when the primary gets too low.

HIGH WIND WARNING! I have this drone. If you find yourself in a high wind situation and use the return to home feature, you face the potential of the drone going out of control in fast speed loops as it attempts to return (because it rises high in the air to avoid trees). This only puts it into higher speed winds. This happened to me. The drone looped twice around my position, flying over and then through power lines. When it was finally a bit lower but STILL making a wild loop around me, I triggered a shut down and dropped it into a field. A better action is to simply lower it to the ground and go retrieve it or lower it to the ground, wait for the winds to die down, and carefully fly it back to you.

I had the same issue when I hit RTH it orbited until it crashed into trees I will test it again in a more open field when I can I have the 720G
@bobbelcher18263 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't it work better if you took off, hovered about 10 meters up, before flying off? Seems I read that in a manual somewhere, that if you fly off immediately, the RTH won't be as accurate as if you lift off, go up 10 meters, before you fly off in any direction
@rdbates333 жыл бұрын
With this model, as long as you've got a minimum 13 satellites before take off, you're good to go! Your suggestion is good but only applies when lacking strong, solid triangulation. Thanks!

Good drone? Kind of thinking of buying a frame kit, but the sub 500$ drones look interesting.
@rdbates333 жыл бұрын
Yes, we're very satisfied with it. I'd call it mod range, others may consider it low to mid range, but whatever it is, it does the job well for it's price point.

So when I did the return home feature it was about 1-3 feet away from where I wanted to be so it is pretty accurate
@rdbates333 жыл бұрын
Yes, that was approx the same result we got on each return. Make sure you've got a minimum of 7 satellites and a clear return path, and you can expect that each time. Enjoy!

What actually happens when u press rth button , will it fly to a certain height first then slowly come down over take off point or will it just fly directly to the take off point ? I just worry about flying it near buildings and it crashing on rth mode
@rdbates333 жыл бұрын
The RTH button causes the unit to fly straight up to approx 80 ft. It remains at that level on the flight home to avoid trees, buildings, etc. Once it reaches the home destination, it will hover momentarily then begin its decent.

Is there a setting for altitude during return home? I would want it to go up to 75 feet to be sure it cant crash into trees on the return trip
@rdbates334 жыл бұрын
No, there is no setting that can be changed in relation to the height of the return home flight. From our experience, it consistently rose to approx 80 ft, hovered, then began its return. In the areas we have flown, that 80 ft has been perfect to avoid trees, light posts, and any other obstructions.

@@rdbates33 Boy am I disappointed! My 720E arrived today and I charged the batteries and was ready to go but when I tried to connect the app i found no wifi signal for the drone Even though the app installed and said my android 6.0.1 phone is compatible it is not! It has 4g but not 5g compatible and the drone wifi signal is 5g. :( I installed and ran the app before buying the drone to make sure it worked on my 6 year old phone but even though my phone listed as compatible it isnt! I cant afford to buy a more expensive phone just for this. Oh well,. I wont be flying a drone :(
@rdbates334 жыл бұрын
@@johninjersey But you don't need to connect to a phone in order to fly the drone. Yes, connecting the phone is nice for some of the additional features, but the drone flies just fine with the included controller. Make sure you calibrate the drone when prompted by the controller and make sure you've got a minimum 7 satellite connections for the GPS before takeoff, and you're good to go!

@@rdbates33 Yes but without the app you lose many features and the main one for me is being able to fly long range by seeing the camera view. With the naked eye you cant fly even 500 meters away before its invisible...
