I've received some negative feedback about my movie reactions and I totally get why you'd prefer me not to physically appear on-screen but it's a compromise I need to make to meet KZbin's policy requirements. I'm trying to find the happy medium so I'd appreciate your understanding on this matter.

I enjoy you mugging or commenting at certain moments throughout the movie. I find it fun and connecting. We are at the movies together, so to speak! 👍🥰

Totally agree. Adding just the reason for Lacy be a little confused. She had a child with Ray and sold the baby feeling guilty.

I agree pretty much with your critique of this movie on every point you brought up, to Sam Neill’s bad American accent. Too many times that Aussie accent poked through. Don’t know why he couldn’t have remained an Aussie immigrant. Assante brought a lot of nuance and range to his role. He kept control of his character and held the movie together bc of his strengths. Marcia Gay Harden looked very young. This was evidently an early movie wherein she was a third lead role. Btw, she was fantastic and, I believe, won best supporting actress Oscar in the movie “Pollock” about the abstract artist and she played his wife. The producers left the ending up in the air, which helped and allowed the viewers to imagine what the fates of all 3 heroes might be. I got quite tired of how often the close ups of the lead actors spent so much time half lit. Mostly the left side of the actors for the viewer, the actors right side. I don’t think I have ever seen a movie, that a cinematographer spent on half lit faces. Yes, creates moods and intrigue, but after awhile it is a gimmick that becomes boring. Writing ✍️ could have been sharper and less bits and pieces of scenes from prison, to other locations, just too much back and forth and redundant. The moody lighting became redundant sometimes too. But overall I also think this rates a 3. 👍👍👍

I thought the prison scenes added to the plot on his personality, as to why he was the type of person she may have taken him back. The prison villain going after the person who obviously protected the weak.

It would be a great follow-up ending. If she got their daughter back from the people she sold her to.

Messaging: 1) Bad boys are sometimes more alluring and interesting than the well behaved ones. 2) Never go the cops if you're targeted by gangsters. The cops are worse than useless. In fact, they're usually in on the shakedown.

I yell "Unnecessary sex scene" a lot. When it doesn't move the plot or enrich the characters. Totally expected her to give him the brush off. And what happened with cooking, she just left it? Also, I hate when people take off clothes and throw them on the floor. They could probably wear them again. And who's expected to pick them up? 😣

Dark movie. Guess your description of dirty, grimey is my 'dark'. But it kept my interest till very end. Can't help but wonder about lives of those that remained how did they fair! Fingerprints on cold untraceable guns and one can still be located. I know it's a movie. Ray will run from probation remainder of his life? Elliott's practice continues as usual? Id recommend to friends for sure. Thanks for sharing!
