I know how you feel young lady. I too am married to someone from another culture. You never get used to it but you will endure. You both will. God bless.

I think it's important to note that several of Origin's speculative views were later condemned by the Church.

I am new to learning about orthodoxy, what evidence do we have that Paul moved to Rome?
@PETERJOHN1012 жыл бұрын
I believe you are thinking of Peter, who lived in Rome before his martydom there. As for Paul, I'm not sure he was ever a resident of any city he evangelized, and the churches he built as far away as Britain suggest he was always itinerant. ☦

You are Father and priest? But there's only one father and one priest.how you get to be both?
@ays.9393 жыл бұрын
Father is just how you refer to a priest
@kronos01ful3 жыл бұрын
@@ays.939 father is only one and the church don't need preists. Its been void by christ.
@ays.9393 жыл бұрын
@@kronos01ful that’s what you meant. Then I guess it’s a sin to call your own father “father” and St. Paul committed sin when he referred himself as a spiritual father. I suggest you do more research on the topic

@@ays.939 that's a silly and arrogant answer. Please show me in the NT where priests exist in the Orthodox sense. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself says: Call no man on earth 'Father', for you have one Father, your Father in heaven. Do you not agree with the Lord Jesus Christ? Is what you say your own private interpretation of Scripture? Perhaps you need to do a little more research on the topic.

@@1Immanuel8 The priesthood was not abolished it was changed. Though it is not necessary to use the term priest it does make sense and is allowed by Jesus our high priest. Hebrews 7:12 "For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law." 2 Peter 2:5 "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ." Hebrews 3:1 "Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;" Hebrews 6:20 "Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec." The title Father as we all know our dads to be. Matthew 23:8 "But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren." Jesus gives the definition of Rabbi as master which is a teacher. But most importantly he is speaking to Israel still living in the land. He speaks of Pharisee’s and Sadducee’s living literally "upon the land (or earth the same word is used for both) and this before the church was founded at Pentecost. This can be seen in Matthew 23:2 "Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:" Jesus is speaking Old Testament here and not the church. Matthew 23:3 "All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not." He’s not speaking about what he would build in the church at Pentecost he’s talking Old Testament here. Matthew 23:9 "23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth (ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς· upon the land) for one is your Father, which is in heaven." There is no reason to believe Jesus thought pattern has changed forward to after Pentecost he still on the same subject for first covenant Jews in the land. The Orthodox Church has bishops with priest under them. The following verses speak of bishops and the continuing bishopric. 1 Timothy 5:17 "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour," Acts 1:20 "For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take." 1 Peter 2:25 "For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls." 1 Timothy 3:1 "This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work." There is a bishopric carried into the New Testament. Bishops and Priest have never been unheard of in the church only the English renderings change. You asked ‘please show me in the New Testament’ so here it is. Be careful and pray before you condemn what may be 2000 years of the working of the Holy Spirit. Orthodox views may differ on some things from Protestant and evangelicals that doesn’t make your condemnation correct
