Use the Stihl HD2 filter and throw the baffle thing out

Udana modyfikacja. To słychać w brzmieniu muzyki. Zrobię to samo na swoich pilarkach Holzfforma.

I too had fine dust behind the filter, only I checked mine after the first half tank. I switched the o-ring on the shaft that holds the filter from the inside to the outside and it tightens the filter down nice and snug, no more dust. Just need to remember when pulling it off no to lose that little o-ring.

Great advice! I’ll have to give that a shot

It looks like it's cutting better very cool easy mods, dang those chips, looks like you got the chain sharpening down pat for sure, very neat video wtg

As soon as I got my G660 Pro two years ago I swapped out the crap air filter for the corrugated paper, installed an open dual port muffler. It wasn't oiling the 36" bar on high the same as Stihl MS660, so installed a Farmertec H.O. oil pump. When I opened it up there was metal shavings due to the oiler spring being 1/8" too long, so replaced with Stihl OEM. The chain adjuster is poor quality and skipped before chain was tightened. Replaced that, too. Other than these minor issues I like this saw. It really wakes up to 10+ tanks. I run all my saws on ethanol free hi-test and VP Full Synthetic at 40:1 and they're tuned to a 4 stroke burble when letting up in a cut with the bar buried. Just bought the G466 for my son's 44th birthday next week. Started adjusted idle and L jet and let it run 15 minutes. His 20 year old Huskys are trashed.

Yeah those seem like the typical failure points assuming you get a good one to start with. Hope the new one works out for you

Ja kupiłem G444. Moim zdaniem jest bardziej agresywna od G466.

Compression release, chain adjuster no good on my neotec 892. No other problem but the release valve dented the piston and pinched the top ring, had to scrape the bump out of the ring groove to free the ring. Got new Stihl part.

Yeah I don’t trust the clones of any brand anymore. Thanks for sharing your problems the the neotec!

The price was right on those mods. I usually chuck that air deflector deal-e-o away - I can't understand what's it there for??
@Man-Time10 ай бұрын
The deflector is a hard stop for the air box and air filter. That way you don’t deform it when tightening down the air box
@902hand710 ай бұрын
@@Man-Time I'm running an OEM filter so I've Filed-13 mine and haven't noted any deformation...
@Man-Time9 ай бұрын
I ended up chunking mine and you’re right. No deformation or change. Maybe better sealing but I ran a layer of grease around the sealing surface

I've read that those stop oil spitting out and saturating the air filter, thus reducing performance after a while. Someone in the comments here said the HD2 (foam?) is better. And it makes sense to me as it's less restrictive but will still catch oil spittig out from the piston.

Get the pro flow poild air filter from Neotec.

Are you still going to build that 660 you got off eBay that turned out to be a clone saw

What tooth rim sprocket would you recommend for a 25 inch bar on the ms660?
@Man-Time7 ай бұрын
I haven’t ran a saw that likes an 8 pin better than a 7.
@matthewknight56417 ай бұрын
@@Man-Time I bought a set on Amazon and figured I'd try out the 8 pin. My 660 has a 25 inch bar and seems great with the 7 pin but thought I'd try and see. I'd like to buy a dual port muffler next. It's already got two ports in the muffler but one is in the side and the other in the front cover. I see the front covers with two small pipes in front and they look cool and maybe will help with power also. An old man that seems to know his saws built it for me and did the transfers and all that. It's actually a screamer
@Man-Time7 ай бұрын
Yeah that’s what it’s all about. Try it and see what’s up right. It might be awesome. I like to dig the dogs in and let the saw eat. Your style might be different and wood is probably different.

I'm in East TN and cut all kinds of wood. Mostly oak and pine and a lot of wild cherry. Some red cedar as well. I bought a 25 inch bar and think I'll do this muffler mod when I get home from this semi truck. Thanks for making the videos

I have the 660. Is that a 32” you have on it? Do you find that the oiler is enough for that size? What fuel/oil mix did you put in now that it’s broken in?
@Man-Time8 ай бұрын
It is a 36” and no I didn’t think it got enough oil. Did a video on how to modify the oiler and now it does the job. 40:1 red armor since day 1

Witam.
