Homademade Standee Cutout Technique for Everyone

I just hand drew a gingerbread men in 2 pieces - top half, bottom half totalling 5' tall. I own a micro lux palm size hand drill as I work with gourds. These gingerbread men are for a party and was trying to figure out a stand up method. I happened to be googling my options and came across your video. I'm hooked and subscribed. Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Was the cardboard single or double corrugated? What knife did you use to cut out the standup? I had double corrugated and it was so difficult to cut out, so that is why I was asking these questions. Thank you for the video.I know it was 3 years ago but it really gave me guidance.

Thanks for watching. I always use double corrugated cardboard and my knife is a utility blade. I can switch out blade for sharper ones as needed. I am used to cutting out cardboard by hand, as you can see in my other videos, so making this set wasn't daunting. You do cutting as much as I do and it becomes like cutting paper lol. Hello how did you print the images in Staples? I’m looking at their website, did you do it by Poster printing or Blueprints printing? I can’t find exactly how you printed it I’m trying to get the same sizes to print for my baby’s first birthday. please help! Thank you in advance!

Poster printing. Staples can make up to 96" prints - at my local Staples anyway

I have connections at local warehouses to get cardboard and sometimes I buy from uline. For the printings, I did them at my local Staples. They do poster printings

I use Photoshop to layout the full image, then take time to separate into multiple 11x17 images with at least an inch of overlap

The cardboard I use is classified as 275 lbs double-wall corrugated cardboard. It's the heavier cardboard used for fridge and stove boxes.
