It's sweet that John Candy and Macaulay were reunited in this after Uncle Buck. Even though they didn't share a scene together, close enough. The funeral story by Candy was completely improvised, which makes it even more hilarious, rest in peace.. Marv's spider death scream is legit. He really had arachnophobia. The greatest crime committed in this movie is certainly... that Kevin didn't even get to eat his highly nutritious Macaroni and Cheese..He is most known for this but also great in other films. "The Good Son" and "My Girl" I highly recommend. "What, now?" "No tomorrow ya egghead yeah now!" 😂

He said in a pretty recent interview when he agreed to it he assumed they were gonna have some sort of prop, he was not expecting a real spider, it took a ton of reassurance from the handler that the spider wasn't going to bite him. To be absolutely safe he didn't scream in real time, he only mimed it and recorded a scream later that they edited in. But that really is his scream.
