I've just taken a cab ride on the real Duncan ('Douglas') at Tywin - Great fun, and a super view of the railway but I can definitely see where Duncan's "rock and roll" comes from!

I always liked how when Skarloey, the genteel, sedate, kindly old sage of his railway, is nervously warned by Peter Sam that the new Duncan is a rude rebel with a tendency for foul language, Skarloey's immediate reaction is to eagerly seize an opportunity to go out and meet him. You can just tell that Peter Sam is fretting "Oh dear, Skarloey's such a lovely, sweet old thing, he'll be dreadfully shocked", while *Skarloey* is clearly thinking "Oh, *this* is going to be fun."

From the illustration at 1:14, I feel certain Peter Sam has a loving admiration for Ada, Jane, and Mabel, of course unlike Sir Handel. I mean, there's that smile that Peter Sam has that I like seeing on his face. :-D

He has a built in face diesel has his engine vent in the front so he has a white face but bear and boco don't because they don't have a front vent or a steam engine smokebox,so they have built in faces like the coaches,and the trucks to in my RWS very running along the lines of it series adapting and making my own episodes it's just awesome and has tvs charectors comeing at realistic times in the 70s-90s and proper NWR numbers it's just awesome in realistic its comeing soon but probably a few years but I will do it

I don't get how Duncan's "rock and roll" could cause the tunnel to partially collapse (or him to get wedged inside) if it's big enough for him. Did he shake some rocks or bricks along the walls loose by knocking into them?

So basically, the rock n’ roll combined with his tall cab (and funnel I presume based on how the Thin Controller tells him off) made him knock into the tunnel roof causing the roof to slightly collapse on him?

If we were to use Sir Handel's logic that Ada, Jane, and Mabel are trucks because they don't have roofs, then goods vans/box cars would be coaches because they do have roofs.

I'm going to need to write flashcards for all the narrow gauge coaches so I can remember their names. There's just so many of them, none of them named in the show, all mixed around in the illustrations, and without the visual of Skarloe shunting Cora onto a siding, I couldn't remember if she was the guards van from two illustrations prior, the other guards van, one of the old coaches, one of the open coaches, or one of the bogie coaches. I feel bad for not even trying to remember which is which, but I really think I'll need to take extreme measures to study my Skarloe Railway Coaches.
