For those looking for infinite ON-OFF-ON-OFF cycle without needing a trigger signal, look at 11:48 for program number 3. NOTE: 1. When your are setting the time in program 3, if you set the time "OFF' first (by setting the time while it's in off mode), then, it will also START in the 'off' mode every time you power it up. 2. If you set the "ON" time FIRST, then (by setting the time while it's in "ON" mode), then, it will always start in "ON" mode every time you power it up.

Fantastic video, thank you very much for the time you took to explain this with your clear & concise instructions. In P1 mode can I use the trigger to turn the light on and off with one momentary switch, or alternatively can I use the trigger to turn it on and remove power altogether to reset it to off with two momentary switches? I want to turn on and then turn off the light, but if the light is left on it should turn off automatically after a set time (canopy lights in a pickup bed). Thanks in anticipation.

Nice explanation. I had procured this PCB board it's cheap and best for delay timer automation. For more durability of pcb you can give input power and trigger signal both in 5 vdc instead of giving 12 vdc. Reason is there is no heatsink attached with voltage regulator ic which is converting 12 v into 5 v. If we apply 12 v input then excess heat will damage the voltage regulator IC. Input Upto 6 v 0.5A max will increase the durability and stability of this board even if it is used for continuous operations 24x7. Relay build quality is very nice it can withstand more than in household voltage and current ratings. No issue in operating heavy loads through relay. One good protection is provided through opto couplers ics for reverse bias protection and reverse current flow protection. Overall I can say it's a industrial standard design.

Outstanding explanation of the abilities and practical uses, thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge of this device. I will be using this to control my dust collection system in my wood shop. I will use P-4 to be a delay to run my blower motor off after a few seconds after I have turned off the tool that started the DC system. This module will turn on a solid state relay since my DC system draws more that 10 amps. As for the trigger part of the project I will use a current tap to trigger this module.

Great tutorial. I'm going to use this for a delay power off of my car stereo, which is older and doesn't have the delayed time off found in newer cars. P-2 program seems to be the one to use, just set the off trigger to zero and the time I want delayed to whatever I want. Thanks again.

Did you get this to work for a radio turn off delay? I don't see a program that will do this????
@Later2u
@Later2u 10 ай бұрын
@@mikescotese620 Yes, I got it to work. What I did was put a fuse block that I could connect everything aftermarket behind the dash I had power to it. You may just have a radio, I have a few other things. I ran power directly to the battery via a relay. This device controls the relay. It works great, but now my radio is powered for however many seconds I've programmed it for, which is fine if your in the vehicle for ~5 mins. But if you just get out, radio is still running until the timer stops. Now I need to put another relay, smaller one, to have the door opening, dome light comes on, to stop power to this timer and shut down the radio. I'm going to do the second relay soon and then everything should work as I first envisioned it. A few hoops to jump through, but doable. The program I used, I think, is the one where there is a delay start. Timer off for a period of time, I have it at zero seconds, and then the powered on for however long you want it on. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your nice video, i use this timer but found one problem, i use it as delay power on for my refrigerator ( 220 volt ,400 Watt) use delay for 300 second, which is work properly but when power goes and resume then the load flash for a second i mean relay on for a second then off and count down begin, how can i avoid it. I use here in P-1 mode my adapter is 12 volt DC, trigger pin connected to + DC terminal.

@robojax 5 жыл бұрын
You are welcome. when you say "power goes and resumes" is it unexpected "goes and resumes" ? if so this device doesn't have another timer to do this. If this power disruption is due to power blackout , then you have to have another relay module between this and your fridge to prevent it it from doing this.

I ended up using one of these and it triggers but the dc motor im connecting on the right side doesn't spin at all. What I have going on is a 9v battery connected into a bread board then a wire coming from the power of the 9v on the bread board to the top left and a wire connected to the ground of the 9v on the battery going to the bottom left and a wire in the middle left that triggers from a signal from a push button to the middle left. (signal works because countdown enables on this module when the button is pressed) and on the right side i've tried 1 wire in the breadboard ground from the 9v from the dc motor and the other wire of the dc motor in the middle right or even top right of the module with a power wire coming from the 9v on the breadboard on the bottom right but it doesn't ever trigger the dc motor like it's not getting any power. I've tried taking the wire from the bottom right and touching the middle right where the wire from the dc motor is connected and it does not trigger. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

I'm trying to hook mine to a 12v lipo for the input to trigger a light to come on. I got the device to preform the countdown when triggered but it's not activating the light. Do you have a video on how to operate this with a DC power source? Thank you.

Does this keep the settings if you disconnect all the power sources on it or do you have to set everything if you loose your power and grounds to the module?

I need a mini unit that can turn off/on on a 0.5 second loop while the signal is closed. Maybe faster., is this unit much capable with a 1.5 amp load?

Hi! Thanks for making this great video tutorial. I just bought the same device. Can you tell me how I can set it up so that as soon as the unit gets powered up from from being off the relay gets triggered until then countdown ends? I tried connecting both the power and the trigger from a single switch but when I switch it on then relay doesnt turn on.

Great video, explained it very clearly. I am planning to use it with a 12V source (inside a Car) to a 5V voice playback. Do I need a converter / transformer? My goal is try to rig a Welcome voice in my car upon starting the engine, which will be the "trigger" and with a delay of 5 seconds, and then voice will activate a 10 second recording of "Welcome Master" after that it shuts off the entire time I'm driving. Do you think this will work? By the way this is my first time using these items. Thank you again for your awesome video.

You are welcome. The module works with 12V but when you start the car, the voltage goes below 10V. If you have multimeter, check it out. So this will start working after car started. For your 5V voice recorder, you can use a converter 5V yes. you should.

hey and thank for th vedio I want to ask you where can I find (off delay timer 12v in the market) the counter start to count when I cut the power? I mean i want it delay off..12 volt with relay when i press power the light turn on and it countinus lighting until I cut power off then the light turn off after 5second
@robojax

I hope off delay means instead of turning something on, u want it off. If that’s the case then it is the wiring of this module with relay. Keep the middle wire of your load at the same terminal if the relay and move the other wife mite to the UoIT her unused terminal.

All the features have been explained. If you can't find the feature you are looking for, then it doesn't' have it. Use Arduino and program it exactly the way you want. this is for people who have limited expectation.

Hell and you are welcome. yes you can control 220V load. I belive I have explained that. the loop as for as I know I everything this module does. I don't know it now. I would have to watch it to answer your question. So you better watch it without skipping and I am sure you get the answer. I have done a lot of review like this and dont' knwo them all.

I want to turn the device on for 30 seconds without the trigger bypassing this timer and after the 30 seconds have gone it should shut off the device. Then if there is no trigger, then turn it back on immediately and run 30 seconds timer as before, however, if the trigger existed after 30 seconds then keep the device off until the trigger ceases to exist. Is it possible? Thanks.

I am interested in buying this product, but first I would like to ask a question. Is the input for switching on the timer provided by a Dimmer? I would like to connect DC + and DC- (ground) to the transformer and IN to a (negative) channel of a dimmer to start the timer at a certain time. It can be done? Or the contact of IN must always be closed on the positive?
@robojax
@robojax 5 жыл бұрын
What kind of dimmer? the one used for AC bulb and fan? No. the input should be 12V. DC. When you say transformer, I hope you mean power adapter so the voltage from transformer is converted to DC using a bridge rectifier and then connected to this device.
@4stringsTAO
@4stringsTAO 5 жыл бұрын
the connection I would like is this. From the 220V AC of my house to the transformer that supplies 12V DC. DC + and DC- go to the Dimmer (programmable for LED lines) and also to the input of the delay timer. While the IN of the delay time goes to the negative of a channel of the dimmer. To explain myself better, I'll put the link to a diagram drawing: www.fileconvoy.com/dfl.php?id=ge9f4529253e8507510001135862f2776011bebfe8f

Yes I just opened the video and watched for you. Yes the input is triggered with Positive only. But this is doable if you do a little extra work 1 transistor and 2 resistor will make this possible. here is the circuit I drew for you snag.gy/TwmDGf.jpg sorry I forgot to mention the resistors values: Resistor in collector can be between 1k to 50K. Resistor in Base can be between 10k to 33k. (see image for Base and collector pins)

Hello, thank you for your video. It was helpful for me too. But I have question: At 4:00 you explain the trigger. and you say I can use an arduino etc. But I don't know how I can use a 12v alexa switch as trigger. Would I need to connect the 12v alexa ouput to the middle too? (I want to open a magnet lock with alexa and I have to assure it turns off / shuts automatically after a few seconds, otherwise the magnet lock overheats) Thanks in advance.

Hello. I never heard of "12v alexa". But regards less. you need to +12V and - or ground to connect and trigger this. Are you referring to Amazon Alexa? if so I've not used it.

Thank you so much for the detailed information. I've managed to connect the relay to my Dahua Intercom which is connected to a electric door strike. I managed to power the relay and got the trigger working so that it start counting down in P-1 settings. However, when connecting my 2-wire electric door strike - it doesn't seem to receive any power. The LED light does come on when the trigger is activated & last throughout the countdown but no power seems to be going to the door strike. Any idea why?
@robojax
@robojax 3 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome. Are you saying that you connected your door strike, instead of the bulb shown in video and it is not turning ON and OFF? if relay clicks and hear it, then your wiring is incorrect. I assume your door device is functioning. test it without connecting it to this module. Connect another load AC or DC bulb and test it. Perhaps the relay connectors on the module are bad. good luck.
