That's a VERY nice design, I think it's also VERY smart in using a bolt together design too. This way there's no worry about a weld giving out, easy and quick repair capabilities and of course probably a lot cheaper to repair. I love your design a lot. Here's to safe flying my Friend !

I'm getting ready to make one of my own, glad I found this video. Of all the home built one I really like the way this one is put together. Nice job!!!....One thing I was thinking is to maybe use aircraft style solid rivets. You can still remove them and they are substantially lighter than bolts.
@dozerboymiller6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and yes the rivet idea is a good option. All total the nuts and bolts probably only add up to a pound or so, so not really a big problem. My design is simply something I made up in my head and jotted down a few measurements that I planned on building it to. It is loosely modeled to be somewhat similar the Skybolt V2 plans design. Other than that I just made it up as I went with a few basic design requirements in mind. It has held up extremely well and I am very happy with it.

WOW ! ! Scott, I've been wondering where you've been. Haven't seen any new posts until now. Your new hobby sure is interesting, But I don't think I'll be trying to build a para motor flying machine. I'll stay on the ground and watch you. I'm looking forward to seeing some uploads of some of your flights made with a go pro. Please, though, wait until good weather. I'm not so fond winter myself. I'm from Southwest Virginia, and our winters aren't quite as severe, But I'm 68 years young and finding that I like winters, less and less each year. LOL ! ! Good luck my friend, stay safe.

does the length of the j bars matters? why it should be long / short?
@UpcomingJedi3 жыл бұрын
Looks like that determines where the riser hopks onto the paramotor effecting the pilots center of gravity and lean angle.

You can extrapolate something very similar just by looking at his video,or just copy a Miniplane design then add some features of your own.

I made this same one and used the Skybolt v2 plans (free plans ppgplans.com/Download/download_here.htm) and simply replaced the tubing called for in the plans with aluminum angle and the ring with EMT conduit, all from Home Depot. That negated the need for any machined parts and the only tools I used were a drill, screw driver, hack saw, and conduit bender. Got it done in one weekend. Turned out almost exactly like this one in the video and didn't take too much modification. Anyway, hope that helps.

would you care to share the extension length of your 1L bell on the E2K1. thanks

Is that a no weld frame? I trust bolts and Ribbit mush more that welds

great job! I'm putting mine together, have a Skybolt which is really similar, and the exact same Apco UL harness. How did you hold the harness cups to the J bar ends? screws or rivets? I have to make a decision on that soon...

Very nice build. Where do you buy the Polini engine, and what's the price tag if I may ask?
@dozerboymiller8 жыл бұрын
+Rick Cavallaro I bought mine from Glidersports PPG out of Clinton, MO. When I bought it the price was $2800 but I just checked it now and the price is up to $2900 . Not cheap but it is a sweet little engine for sure.

Nice build - your 2nd frame looks very much like the 1st --- where did you save the 5lbs? Did you use a particular set of plans or just wing it? Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Patrick

That's a nice frame. I'm just getting into paramotor flying and have been looking at frames. From my engineering mind, it looks to me like people are making a fortune on paramotor frames, so I'm going to build my own. That's why I ran into your channel. Where did you get that net?
@SurfKiteFly7 жыл бұрын
Great work, I can really appreciate your efforts, I started building my own about 4 months ago out of aluminum and it evolved into something quite unique so I decided to abandon the aluminum and have rebuilt it out of carbon fibre - kevlar frame, I am in the final stages of putting the netting on and I will fly and reveal it soon. I think I will release them commercially as its kind of special I think, please subscribe to my channel to see it soon. Hope that snow goes away for you. Cheers
