Hello everyone
Here is my latest book review on Home by Toni Morrison. It's the first time I've read her books and it was a great introduction to her writing.
The book covers the story of an African American Korean war veteran returning home to save his sister. In his journey home, we learn more about his poor childhood, his family's displacement, family trauma, racism and eugenics.
Over to you. What books have you read from Toni Morrison?

I am familiar with Toni Morrison but had not heard of Home. It sounds like one I need to check out, although not an easy read.

True. I guess that’s the reason why I just never read her books in the past. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts Arianne. I appreciate it as always. Take care and happy reading!

I've never read Toni Morrison, but I definitely will one day. This is a fantastic review and a topic that is very contentious at the moment. The UK has recently been through race riots and their is a concern amongst certain individuals that indigenous British people are being bred out and their religion is purposely being eroded and islamified. Personally I like to keep my own opinions to myself unless asked. I find books on race intriguing and often wonder what a poor white view would be of old America or present day in fact. Would it be published? It's important that the mistakes of our past are pointed out and the truth is told, but for black Americans to of got civil rights and freedom of slavery means a lot of right thinking whites must of helped them achieve this. I often wonder if people realise that thousands of white Americans sacrificed themselves. Like I said it's contentious and certainly food for thought.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Yeah, I don't know either way. What I do know is that by reading, we can at least ask questions, learn, listen and empathise and understand. I think reading puts us in a frame of an open mind - where we don't know the answers but at least can start conversations.
