If only I saw this video a month ago! Although best way to learn is by doing! I bought a 4400 WLC and a few 1142n APs off eBay to play with while studying and they were all out of date. It's all up and running now and only took about 3 days of messing around and hunting for answers. Love the videos, keep em coming!

I love those 2504's! It's amazing how good your WiFi can get for a few dollars, if you have wiring for it. Plus there is the mesh stuff if you want to go down that road. Always wanted to try some of the 3850 unified stuff with the APs!

hi, thanks for the great videos. I was hoping to renew my CCNA last year, but grave family problems postponed it. Now I'm focusing on WIFI configs. Can old WLC firmware prevent APs from joining? I've tried a 1041N, 2702I, and 3702I with a cisco 2504 running 7.0.252. On the APs, I keep seeing "cannot resolve CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER." I've ordered a 2504 with up-to-date software. Suggestions from anyone?

Hello expert, I follow your lab set up work well but only not sure why the wireless client cannot ping different internal network vlan(s) SVI , however ping good from wlc cli to any internal networks … just wonder where is the issue ? Hope you can show on your video from wireless Client can ping the internal SVI say server vlan ! Thanks

With older gear certificates(set back the clock) can be a problem as well as country code errors when connecting the AP's(Disable the radios , change country code - think this has to do with POE power configs for different countries or something), you can see these by running debugs on the wlc(helps narrow down the issues). I had to sort it out on the CLI the GUI for some reason didn't work for me.

I am lookking for wisdom :). Let's say i have got over 100 AP-s connected to the WLC. I want to update firmware(the easy part) and after that I want assign IP-s DHCP to 50 and static for 50. Then i want to capture the logs from the APs on the WLC (not on log server) "show" commands etc etc...and save them-named by their MAC and Serial : "bla-bla-bla.log" ......can I do this on the WLC in one go for the config and one go for the logs? Say, i got the config for static IP-s and def. router etc. in a text file ....can i upload it to the WLC (5500 SERIES) and just push it onto the AP-s? Also, can i collect the logs in one go from all the 100 APs ? (i don't want to console into them one after another ......one by one.....I would go mad.).......so, challenge is up :) Any idea would be much appreciated.
